Alright Lads, another Kat for you Kat fans to check out. This one is from "Spot" in Townsville (another member for you Clive). Here's his email:

"Hi Folks, pics of the old faithful, had her since '88 and been round the clock twice but still going strong. Was orinally a 1000 , but lately has a 75mm Arias kit in , 33mm CRs , and EFE cams. Looking at cleaning it up a bit by throwing a set of 4 spots on to improve the braking as they are a bit on the soft side, and the wiring is getting a bit sad thanks to living by the beach. But nothing that a bit of nouse and a few hrs can't fix. New paint job will be on the way soon too now the kids have grown up & stopped colouring it with crayons .Will send some more pics once its cleaned up,in the mean time it will still be laying down some rubber. Cheers, Spot"

Gidday Spot.
Good to see you've had a long term affair with the old girl.

Can you fill me in on the story with the 1000ccs ?
I always thought Kats were either 1100's, dog ugly 750 pop ups or the 650's.
Is there a model I missed or something ?
I've also had debates previously about the lower fairings. The Kat's never came with them did they ?
They're aftermarket right ?

[:p][:p][:p][:p][:p] FUCKING SEX MACHINE [:p][:p][:p][:p][:p] Niiiice Kat mate. [8D]
Rocket, there was also a non popup 750, it looked almost exactly the same as the mighty 11 (but obviously didn't go as well!) & the 1000cc chap was a limited run homologation special for eating CB 900s & Z9s at Bathurst, I have the facts & figures for them somewhere but I remember the thou' had the same power & torque as the 11 so it was obviously tuned a bit higher - cams & comp. ratio probly.
& no the lowers are not standard & yes they are aftermarket & yes, they look shithouse [:0] Sorry Spot, but there's an extremely handsome engine under there (& I tell the Ladies that too.... [:o)]) ;)

I do like the full fairing. Not 100% sold on the color though.

Hi Again folks,
pic of the old girl without the skirt for those who don't like them, I have to admit myself , Ilike it better without it & never gets used much up here with the warmer temps .

Cheers,

Spot

I'm gunna go with Turbokat here.
Looking at those two pics, it;s definately better without the lower fairing.

The 650 was an unfaired, SHAFT drive version, there was also the GS550M which was an unfaired chain drive version. Both looked fuggin ugly
