Im running rgv wheels front and rear on my 86 GSXR 750 race bike.. Unfortunately race slicks are not available for the 110 profile front..
Is there any standard front 120 wheel that will bolt straight in and use the same size axle and disk rotors.. Whats the best way to go to get slicks on to this bike.
many thanks

92-93 GSXR600 is your best bet, they are the lightest in the series and I believe fit straight in

A 17 X 3.5 Bandit/WC Gix straight spoke or a Slingshit swept spoke wheel will be a straight swap, 20mm axle & same disc mounting pattern, the RGV hub is a couple of mm narrower than the Gix/Bandit jobs so you may hafta shim or trim your caliper mounts a mm or so to keep the discs running in the centre of the caliper - you might not have to though.
For what it's worth, I ran a 120/70 front on a 3" RGV wheel on my XR 650 motard & it was a thing of beauty on the road, dunno how that would translate to a Gixer on the track though.
I wouldn't have a problem running a 120/70 on a 3" wheel on a Roadbike or a Racer.
Rear slicks for the 4.5" rim size aren't a problem, 160 or 165s are available from most manufacturers.
Have you thought about sticking a 5.5" rear wheel in?

Most of the 400 racers run the 165's on a 4.5" rim and whilst it fits it's certainly not ideal. It pinches the tyre so we can't use the edge of the tyre and is prone to wearing a lot faster. A few of us are moving over to 5.5" rims at the moment and it's a lot better on tyre wear
