sub frame amputation

Hi people,has anyone had the experiance of cutting the sub frame off a bandit? the reason i ask is where the bottom brace is mounted to the frame it is very moulded to the main frame with no factory weld's to be seen.if i take to it with a 5in cutting wheel will i still have solid bar (chassie) underneth [?] the only weld to be seen in this area is about 4in up the subframe...i know it can be done cause iv seen em,but have they cut and patched or just cut the section off??

i think you will find it will be hollow so you will have a hole to fill if you cut at the position marked,

i would just fill the hole

Yea Harry, you'll find a hollow tube underneath. Huddo did it with his Bandit (courtesy of Supercharger Mark) and I saw it at that stage. They welded a plate into the exposed area. I'll see if I can find a picture somewhere.

thank's si, im going to take it off at the weld and leave the rest until i can find someone around home that can do a good clean job of it,and start thinking about wat to do with the tail..got my part's so motor soon i hope.
