ok
I am after some advice about fitting wider rear wheels
i have scored a trx 850 wheel for my fzr1000, its the same design but an inch wider. it fits in the swinging arm, but nothing lines up.how do i line up the chain / do you machine back the sprocket carrier or space out the front sprocket.

thanks gary

How much offset do you need? If it's under 10mm, you could probably squeeze a spacer behind the front sproket. If it's more, you'll have to shave the rear carrier as well.

If you machine the sprocket carrier will the chain rub on the tyre? how much clearance hace you got ... bust out the string line and check if the chain will hit the frame (if you space the front sprocket) or the tyre ( if you machine the carrier)

I have heard of people correcting the chain line by mounting the rear sprocket the other way around if the sprocket is of the dished variety. Never tried it though.
