96 Bandit front end into Kat?

Putting a 96 Bandit front end in my Katana dragbike, it seems that the stems are a bit different, the Bandit one being about 25mm longer. Is it just a matter of pressing the GSX stem out and using it in the Bandit lower clamp, or does the Bandit stem need to be machined to suit the Katana head stock? All bearings are the same size its just the top bearing wont slide down the stem to meet the carrier.

i would imagine you could just press out the stem shayne and use the gsx one in the bandit lower

Im hoping that Rod, just press the stems out and swap them. Easy as.

Not a straight swap of stems. Have to machine the top clamp to suit the Kat stem. Easier to get one made 25mm shorter. I did the stem swap in my Kat and it was a pain in the bum. Also the Kat stem is just a poofteenth larger(i think. Was a few years ago)where it presses in the bottom clamp. Got a sleeve made up to fix that.
