Just need to know if i will be able to hook up a ordinary aftermarket car Tacho such as this one

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/AUTOMETER-C2-5-INCH-MONSTER-SHIFT-LIGHT-TACHO-WHITE_W0QQitemZ140328915040QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_C ar_Parts_Accessories?hash=item20ac415060&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A1|66%3A2|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A0| 293%3A1|294%3A50

to my 05 Suzuki Gs 500, ive heard some people having to make some additional electronic bits to make it all work anyone have more info.

And the descriptions dont say anything about cyclinders, but ive got a feelings its more to do with the number of coils or whatnot.

My budget doesnt go as far as acewell stuff and HD dont have the RPMS needed.

Have a look at JCAR electrics or what ever they are called, they have build your own tacho kits .... Not the prettist things in the world but might be an option....

yeah ive seen them, but they are ugly need hours of work and more expensive then a completle working new car tacho with shift light.

But more than that the readout is Digital LCD display and is next to useless, Much prefer a needle

talk with an instrament specialist shop, you may be able to get the tacho recalibrated to suit.

My experience with car tachos on a bike is they don't like the vibrations.
