some blokes down here seem to be amused with the old skool stuff, why not? here you are lots of old skool: the spaghetty forks, pizda drums, the powerplant, hell, no, the bike itself coming from the nazi bmw r75... born back in 1965, a stockie brownie dniepr with a side car was bought by me "comfortably numb" 10 years ago, just for $30-40...

so the fairy tale of the crow has begun... [:p]

actually, the 1st given name was "the vandal", from the ancient slavonic tribe, that not just grasped and plundered rome, but also destroyed the "eternal city" to the ground! [}:)] [^]
well, with the old tank it did looked like a vandal, but its tank i of borrowed for the naglfar, where it is so far... till i make a new alloy one... i tried to find the same tank (originally it came from "kovrovets" 175cc 2stroke bike from 50s), but failed [V], yet a mate o'mine presented me another tank, from "izh planeta 2", early 60s, and it looked like a bird's body, so i just imagined its head, and lo:

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1245654553.jpg

so the vandal has become simply the crow! :D

two stocky carbs were replaced with a single carb from a car, the same old v4 "zhoporozhets"(arseface :D:D:D), rejetted by trial and error, now the engine starts well, no matter, if cold or warmed up, just a certain delay in acceleration, the runners are quite long :)

yup, thats wild, esp. considering the fact, that usually it leaks... right onto the brake shoes... nazies designed that... [:0] dunno why, perhaps forseein' to sell the manufacturin' licence to the potential enemy[?][?][?]

mine aint leakin', though... [^] it usually leaks whe the sealing is worn-out, and also caused by warming and thus increasing of the air inside the case. my sealings are new and i made a breather pipe in the cap:

thanks colin, no big shit, just a rat, simple and primitive as a kalashnikov... u can dissassemble and assemble it again in an open field, no need for special tools, just a spanners kit from 8mm to 24mm, and a screw driver, well, and a spark plug wrench, many mods were made to the most parts, mods for the better :) for instance, using carspark plugs wires with caps - how? (the different connection): shove 2 long thin nail without caps into the secondary winding contacts (they fix with screws), cut car wires at a desirable length, and pull 'em onto the nails: bush engineerin', however!;)
tougher valve springs, an altered main gear ratio, heaps of mods, a narrowed for 130 mm side car, too (without a gondole, or a condom, not sure, how it calls in english [8)])

Surt
29-06-2009, 10:26 PM
the wiring was simplified to 5 wires, no fuses (and no faults), two relays: one for a horn, and the horn blows like an elephant, very loud low deep tone, borrowed from a russian volvo - volga :)

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1246343480.jpg

... and another one for the headlight
it used to have a stop light, but i didnt like its appearance, so took it off (and welded up its mounting holes on the rear fender), wnt to set it below, on the main drive case, putting leds in it)

a survivalist? hey! thats partly 'bout me: wen all the wages spent for bikes parts every fortnight, the only ways left is to survive! [:p] posting the crow in the forum has been a joke: some-one talkin' to my mate, mentioned "a fightered dniepr" [}:)] hell, yeah, i have one! :D
as for bike itself, i hate seeing a bike dying, and it was dying in a cellar half flooded with water, so i was just obliged to buy and give it another life. its crankcase was filled with water too, phases were set wrong, its [former] tank was covered with rust under playboy and stimorol stickers (i still keep the tank for future restoration, it has a sector for a jockey shift: coming from izh49, 1949, the true old skool)
so that was my goal: to restore the bike on a really low budget, improving it, where possible... had i more funds, i'd make a real updated bike, with fi and a small turbine [8D]

actually, if the bike doesnt sell, im gonna use the naglfars steel chassis and its steel tank, to make a real fighter (or a bomber :D), still with a carb - just because i'll have an odd chassis, when a new tutanium one is made.
every kind of bikes has a different purpose, and is for different use: u wont ride to some shit hole on ur busa, a dirty tractor is the right thing! the same with me: i can leave it anywhere without a fear, that some wanker would steal a turbine, or just drop it (still taking the battery with me :()

and thanks colin, for estimatin' my style, i hope i have one too [:I] i like it to be funtional, imroving a thing, not just for showin' off... i usually see the urals and dniepers copying harleys, but stuffed with old crap: pornographic carbs back from 50s, leaking with oil, but most of all makes me laugh, how much not needed shit they have on themselves, like coughin' car stereo [:0], 40l tanks [:0] [:0], safety bars, ape hangers with billet steel handles - too fucking much for a 36hp old vet!!! me, i gave it some viagra and took some fat away

Way too much anal retention about bikes over here... I`ve seen it for years :D

Your self reliant mate ! :) Thats a great and good thing, summat that that the vast majority of the west forgot or unlearned ?

Big example of a newb Brit biker:

A "mate" of mine recently into bikes... ex army lad.
Had a newish GSXR1000 when I 1st met him.
Told me he had major problems with the clutch, went on and on about his clutch problem.
Took it into his local Zuke dealer, not clutch mate.... the gear change lever nylon bush is buggered because he never cleaned around the pegs. The nylon bush was chewed to hell with grit and road shite.
Nowt to do with the bloody clutch, it was a stiff gear lever because it was foobarred..... idiot !
Next weekend we were due to ride out again. He can`t get the bike into the service department to have the new gear lever fitted..... WTF !!! [xx(][V]
So I offered to go and pick up the gear lever from the dealer for him and go around and fit it to his bike.... 2 minute job to fit it ?
Piece of piss innit ? :D
Err no.
This idiot says ohhhh no... the dealer has to do that, "you" can`t do it..... its a special job only for the service department....
yeah yeah....ok byeeee :(

Pass me another retard this ones broken ?

Like another guy who couldnt change his headlamp bulb on his ZX12, cost him over £80 at the dealer.

Bike building .... love it [:p]
Best part is breathin life back into them when they are wrecks... you too ??
