Hey all - just wanting to put some flat bars on my ZX9. Do I need a new top triple clamp, or can I reinforce the stock cast triple with some quiksteel, put a steel plate on either side and drill it for risers? I ride it reasonably hard and need it to be strong enough for stoppies and the like.

Hey Loz,
The top triple on my ZX9R is drilled and it has outlasted two sets of flat bars which I bent beyond repair both times. Once due to being hit by a Blind Mole in her car and the second time from a low side (Purely my fault);). The top triple hasn't been reinforced either.

Just drill it....It'll be perfect, only buy a top clamp if you want it to look prudy
