NSW but some of us QLD guy's play over the border too......

http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/rulesregulations/penalties/demeritpoints/index.html?hhid=newdemerits

1 to 10kmh over the speed limit will attract one demerit point and an $84 fine;
11 to 20kmh over the speed limit will attract three demerit points and a $197 fine;
21 to 30kmh over the speed limit will attract four demerit points and a $338 fine;
31 to 45kmh will result in a three month suspension, five demerit points and a $647 fine;
Over 45kmh will result in a six month suspension, six demerit points and a $1,744 fine.

Looks to me like the points system hasn't changed much.
Just the minimum speed limits.
I notice that the fines jump from 1 point to 3 - no 2 point fine. Makes me wonder why.
I think the old system used to be 15klm over = 3 points?

The "old" system used to be 0 (in theory) to 30 over = 3 points. The fine was 83$ for 0-15 and 243$ for 16-30 over.

The NSW gubmint are a bunch of fucking goat fucking cunts. They even give you 3 points for driving in a bus lane....where's the danger in that?

I think bus lanes are designated commuter ie. Bus and taxi but luckily, they allow bikes and I like this a lot. :D

The reason behind demerit points was supposed to be penalising drivers for doing something dangerous. So penalising mums in 4wds who park at school crossings, I can understand...but giving points to cunts who use bus lanes makes no sense

I thought every K over is a killer so why don't they just leave it to the law of nature. Don't they believe in what they preach 8)

Wtf. What a load of shit. How can they even book you for 1-10kmh over.. I thought the guns were only "guaranteed calibrated" within 5-6kmh?

Either way, this state/country is seriously starting to get on my nerves with all the stupid laws and punishments against trivial stuff like modifications/1kmh-over-the-limit, while someone can kill a pedestrian/rider in a car accident and get off with a slap on the hand and a 'neg driving' charge.
