For something like this:

I think it is time to spend a lot less time on the road, but I still want to ride.
My boy is growing up fast and will want a bike soon, so the obvious choice is to find the Bandito a new home and get something else.

All the info on the bike is in various threads (I will dig 'em up shortly) but it is a good honest bike and I don't want to dick around with buying and selling etc.

So with a bit of luck someone will have a road/trail they are willing to part with (I am looking for 400cc plus, but who knows)

dan maybe put a $ value on it in case someone has a suitable bike but isnt sure if you will laugh at the offer or not.
im guessing a bike + cash is also an option?

Two AG bikes? Two! Hmm, I will keep that one in mind, mate.

I am damned if I know what it is worth which is why I would just rather a swap, but I would be happy if I got my money back for the original purchase of the stock bike ($5,000).

It is an '03 1200
58,000kms
'02 GSX-R front end
'Busa rear shock
K&N pods \ Dynojet kit
Acewell dash
Full Hindle exhaust system
Custom tail with TLS seat
New chain & sprockets (done about 200kms)
Rear tyre 95%, front 60%

I am just after a decent sized thumper that I can slap a set of tard wheels on and play on the road and the dirt.

Surely you can pick up a traily for cheap enough to still keep the bandit (i't be a shame to sell it). I'd like to do the same thing but i need to have one bike going before i'd get another. good luck either way.

I have a 2002 Husky wr360 if you are interested ?? top bike, you short shift it and it pulls like a 4 stroke.

Cruisecontrol

Hmm, thanks for the offer but after I sold my RZ500 I promised myself I would steer clear of two strokes for the next hundred or so years.

OK but just think when your mate is hasseling you from behind while you try to get out of a rut that swallowed your bike, you just hold the throttle open and gas him to death!!! [xx(]

Stroker dirties with torque can not be beat.[^]

If you can afford to do so, I would just keep it, sumthin tells me the moment you sell it you will regret it.

if you are serious dan then either choic above your is far a behond any current 4 stroke power and reliabillity wise imo crf's and wr's and kxf's are shitheaps they go well for a couple of hours anyway

Don't u go puttin mud on that nice blue name.
Wr's are soooooooo reliable. all u need to do is change the 710 every 500k's of dirt or 1000 of road, valve's every 10 and ya cant go wrong. 2 bangers are always gunna be cheaper to rebuild but it's 900ml of oil for fuck's sake. just change it.Mind you that go's for most of em. as long as you don't get a friday husky, aprila, honda, kwaka, gas gas,etc etc.
Go for late modle yammy, ktm or a berga ring, do the oil on the latter every 2 ride's(or tanks of fuel) an they'll go foreva...

Im with scotty. I had a WR400 and that is just what I did. change the oil every 2 rides. Sold it to a mate who got it all checked out and it has compression like new and it has never been rebuilt. thats a 98 model. If my current bike died I would go back and motard a WR

would think a lot more than that unless flogged and not regularly serviced - my triple got well over 60,000 on it and I wring its neck most of the time and not had an issue (only two sets of sparkplugs and regular oil changes - lots of tyres tho :D)

think most of the oil boilers are pretty tuff mate

As far as the WRf's are concerned, yer blowin smoke, Rodness. I've had a WR450 '04 model since new and all I do is change the oil/filter and clean the air filter. The only thing I've had to replace is 1 sparkplug, chain and sprockets and a few rear tyres. I've done heaps of 2 day trail rides and flogged the buggar on the street in motard guise for 12 months. They're as reliable as anything else out there and more-so.

Valves on them aren't an issue unless you don't clean your air-filter.
My bike still has original engine components except the zorst.

No use having gobs of power in the dirt if you aren't capable of using it. ;)
In saying that, I reckon I could ride a WR250 quicker in the sticks than a 450 but I like doing wheelies too much.
