I just looked at a K2 GSXR750 for sale with either chrome or nickel plated rims & the plating was flaking off.
Do any of you blokes know a good way to strip the plating? Can you just use a cup brush on a grinder or would that be a bit harsh?
Cheers, Dane

grinder would be way to harsh mate i would maybe try sanding it off .....not realy sure but i know that a cup brush will rip into the alloy pretty easy

In the UK there was a place thaqt could reverse the chemical process and remove the plating.
Might be worth ringing a few chrome platers.

All chrome platers have a chemical bath which strips old plating off, I've had it done a few times here in Vic at Etsons Plating.

OK cool, thanks for that.
What would you expect to pay roughly for 2 rims?
