Trying to replace my Renthal 743's with something similar in gold.

They are 7/8" bars, fairly standard, but renthal don't bring them into Australia in gold, looking for something similar to the gold ones in this list.

Where do you guys get your bars from? And if not using the bike for stunt, is a cross-brace necessary? I'm not running one on the current bars.

Maybe try Pro Taper bars?

I use B&C express

http://www.bandcexpress.co.uk/

They weren't keen on taking credit card orders oversea's,
so I called them (Daybreak card, dirt cheap) and sorted it.

Renthal "Streetfighter bars" that I couldnt find in AU were
about $110, 1 week to deliver.
Will be even cheaper now with the better $/pound exchange.
You dont pay UK VAT tax or AU import duty either.

Tried Pro Taper, dont have much as far as road goes... which disappointed me, had my heart set on a street version of the fat bars, but angles were wrong, positioning all wrong, and would need a new top yoke.
Tried that site too, didn't have what I wanted.

Found some gold "streetfighter" Renthal bars, i've ordered it, its coming from the States. Positioning seems better than what i've got now, which is good. As soon as I install the bars, the Pazzo's I have waiting for me and the new grips, i'll throw up some photos. Can't wait.

Some of the Renthal streetbars are near 700mm,
The Dirt bikes are closer to 800mm...(from memory)

Most dirtbike bars dont have enough room for the switchgear,
this pushes the master cylinder clamps onto the bends.
Levers dont pull in straight.

Renthal Streetfighter bars are about 750mm wide,
with room for all street gear.

Tony, thats the exact ones i've ordered. the gold renthal streetfighter bars, which are the longest bars renthal offer.
my setup looks identical to yours, ABM yoke too (once i get the bars that is).

Do you think its necessary to keep the center brace? not sure if im gonna be a big fan of it (see when i install it i guess)

Pulled the centre brace off mine too, but it left marks..:(
So its back on for now.

I've had the same bar's on a GSXR, Bandit, SV and Busa.
Cant understand why they are not on sale in AU ?

Me either... my local mechanic, who double as a spares shop, couldnt get their hands on them.
Gold road bars, you think, would be common... with R6's and R1's coming standard with gold forks nowadays...

Wish we could order these bars without the center brace, as i figured it would mark the bar... oh well, see how fixable it is.

What you really need is a set of PHAT bars like these that you can repaint to whatever colour you like . These are my originals off my GSXR and there are a dozen sets just like them floating around Sydney with no complaints . Anyone interested these are available for sale .

how badly does the center brace mark the bars? I'm keen to get a set of these but don't like that brace at all. looks like my old bmx bike under the house

that was my concern as well 336LJ, and will comment on it in this thread once i receive the bars... Not a huge fan of the look, and im sure the marks can't be too bad... nothing a small amount of gold paint wont fix.

Shit. Wish I'd seen this thread sooner. I got a set from Peter Stevens in Ringwood of the shelf for $100. Fitted easy on the Bandit, in fact I took 20mm off each end for slipping through traffic. Heaps of room for switchgear. I know this won't help you Dave but for reference for others.............
