Hi there.
I have these carbs and was wondering if anyone can tell me what all the excess shit is hanging off it.

http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/upload/10468519760114.JPG

there is an electrical conector on the side and on the bottom with connecting hoses which seems to be like a throttle position sensor or some kinda polution gear. The float bowls are offset so i presume they are a sorta down draft thingy.I know its a shit foto and i'll get a better 1 tommorow but does anyone know what they're off?:)

thanks for listening

Doesn't look like much of a fuel bowl. Do they need a fuel pump to run? Fuel bowl angle might indicate they need to be run as a downdraft carby?

The electric bit might be the choke?

I'm just guessing

29-10-2006, 05:16 PM
they are downdraft, the choke is manual, the electric thing on the side seems to be connected to the throttle mechanism so im guessing its possibly a throttle position sensor and the electric thing on the bottom is conected to all four carbs via 1 joining hose and another hose in connected to the intake side of 1 carbie so im guessing its some kinda vacuum advance or pollution gear shit.the bowls are all connected to a large hose so they may be pressurised by a fuel pump.
only reason i wanna know is so i can sell em.$150 anyone???

Krash my missus was doing the ironing nude in the window.

they don't look like my SRAD 600 carbs, but yes that shit on top is like a pollution power sucking spider thing. connects up to the airbox. and that little electric thing looks exactly like the TPS on my carbs so my bet is it is one[8D]

dunno what that shit on the bottom is though[B)]

thanks Pete.

Can someone tell me why you need a TPS on a carbie bike?

Ign timing is ecu controled and variable for throttle position.
lots of trailies with carbs do it too, unpluged it reverts to a very conservative timing that seems to suit turbo apps ;)
