All the imformation below has been put up from the manager of H.A.R.T St.Ives NSW.

If your interested see below;)

To become an Instructor in NSW you must obtain a Letter of Eligibility from the RTA

Steps in becoming an Instructor in NSW
Obtain a ‘Letter of Eligibility’ from the RTA
Complete a Pre Learners course as a 6th student prior to Instructor course
Express an interest to enroll in the next Instructors course at HART
Candidates who achieve this will be short listed for a place on the next Instructor Course held at HART, (10 August, for 5 consecutive days)
After successful completion of Instructors Course apply to RTA for Rider Instructor Licence

Process if selected to work with HART after becoming licensed Instructor
Commence shadowing and accreditation process
Obtain accreditation to deliver RTA and Aust Post courses
Be rostered for instructing based on availability, both yours and workload

What HART is looking for in an instructor
A passion for and natural ability to teach adults
A certificate IV in Training & Assessment
A natural synergy with the HART teaching style, environment and working team
A passion for road safety
Accountability and the willingness to work outside of your comfort zone
A solid riding ability

This is good, I was just about to ask some questions about this. Well one really damo I wanted to know if you have to stay current with this by requalifying or if once you are an instructor you don't lose it (unless you lose your license obviously). The reason I am asking is that I am the Supervising Officer for the ADFA motorcycle club and I could probably get the academy to pay for me to do this course.

Mate you have to run at least one rta course a year to keep your accreditation and then every 5 yrs you have to go back and do your RTA knowledge test again.

Your license only lasts 5yrs and then you need to redo that to keep it current
