grasstree beach, bout 20 min drive from mackay, get yourself some good shade, a big full esky and someone to drive home cos the cops sit on the only road out and pull over everyone leaving. search youtube 'grasstree beach' and you will find some more races :D

I mite have to start working on this can you get knobbies for the stock rim or do you have to change the size rim any body?

its hard to get 17" knobbys wide enough for the rear and ya need to go to a larger dia front tyre to keep it stable at speeds.

i know a few blokes try'd paddle tyres but the paddles soon ripped off, even the knobies dont last long :D, check for clearance on your swinger, and make a plastic or alloy plate for anything you dont want sand blasted with salt water as a lube, good protection is an idea too cos i asure you you will be picking sand out of places its not meant to be , and if you somehow manage to get infront of scottymac i shout you a drink:D

scotty has the knowlage;)

Thanks for that guy's I better start hunting a rear as it sound like that will be the hard's to fine and then look at the set up of the suspension:D

Bigger diameter rims/wheels will give your more ground clearance also.

they move the barrels out further appart each set of races, so if you have a few sprokets it may be an idea to bring em, plenty of time between races to change em, maybe scotty mac will post up the distances[?]

Thanks mate. I tired a few tyre shops to day and they looked at me strange and said no:(, so now its a matter of hunting tyres down or changing the rims to a different size to fit.If you know of anyone that would know were to get some that would be great. Of to another tyre shop now hope they know were I mite find some...

the races are held over 500 750 n 1000m barrell races, years ago it was drags in the morning(hight tide) then barrell races in the arvo(low tide), also there had been wheel stand comps too.

try looking at gettin a 18' front rim/tyre. should be easyer to get a 18' rather than a 17. paddles don't work for barrell races as you need to brake and turn.

I was thinking the same thing. Take the hole front end off the bars, forks, triple clamp and wheel and putting on the R6 it should fit but unsure about how to do the rear wheel[?]
