Welcome. I'd say you're off to a great start having crashed it and hopefully smashed up the plastics :) In all seriousness, given the EX400 is basically a small bore GPZ500 you have a nice basis there.

Personally, and it's just my opinion, I'd think about doing it as a modern cafe racer with its steel tubing frame and parallel twin in a compact chassis.

I'd go with a new dash & a headlight for starters mate! ;)
All depends on what style ur after hey, can pick up acewells and enduro h/lights reasonably cheap nowadays..

Start hiding things like the overflow bottle or paint it black.. And get rid of the rear mud guard and try and move the tail light closer to the seat... I would make a side cover to go from the rear point of the seat to the lower subframe mount and back up to the tank so that all the side is filled

rightio, I have a problem here that could be solved through this forum, I don't know what to do for mirrors, the bikes mirrors attached to the headlight fairing, as shown in pics befor, I know some people get mirrors on their bar weights, but I don't like that look, and I realy don't want to change my handle bar set up to much to get them attached...

you can buy the back plates for your master cylinder and clutch perch with the mirror threads in them.

And enough of the Oldfool Ounsen.
