I spent well over a grand on my AFR09 trip, drove 20hrs each way only stopping for fuel and food, took time off work and away from family etc. I'm also a donating member with all the merchendise. Don't try'n tell me that if I haven't bought a ticket I'm not showing interest or support.

I value greatly the efforts of Si and of ASF in general hence why I contribute.

I, however, did not support AFR09 prior to the event, nor did I attend so why should I support it after it was run and help recover the loss generated there from?

By now most of you will know that AFR09 ended up costing Si quite a bit of money, in fact I believe he even re-mortgaged his house to finance it. Due to unforseen circumstances namely the rain & a few other factors, he didn't break even, in fact he didn't even come close.
Even though he says he's prepared to cop this expense, I don't think he should have to wear it all on his own, especially if it means that the event won't go ahead next year. This would be a major blow to the custom bike scene in Australia & the loss of a great weekend of bike related madness for all of us. Im sure anyone who has attended the AFR will agree.

I think there is enough members on this site to help out with some of this debt.

This major profit you talk about was $1000, after I paid off the beer bill on my credit card that became $400 and then that was put back in the kitty towards the next year. Seems a few people are confusing me with someone else.

I'm not going to bicker here about any of this as I am in no position to do so. It was my loss that I have to wear and I have not personally asked anyone for any help. This was all started by people who conatcted me asking to help out to recoup the money I lost so that I can get a fund back together to use at future events, and in such I appreciate everyone's support who has donated prizes and bought tickets. I didn't expect any of it and I thank your again for your help.

my 2 cents - you are either in or your out for whatever reason that suits the individual ie you - there should be no judgement and Si never asked - a few people had an idea and after a couple of months it's probably at the stage of where it's going to get to - a few people (the donators of gear) have been generous in offering their wares for the cause in the form of prizes - to those who have bought tickets, it's a benefit if ya win and get something for your donation and for those who don't, well you've done the same as the prize givers and donated to a cause that you felt was worthy
