But I wonder if they could be modified so that they are okay? After all it is not like a damper is the difference between your bike working and not working.

Just get one of your knitting kneedles, wrap some silver coloured paper around it then attach it with some sticky tape.
Or use a ABM one, its about the same:D

More like it would be right up your ally if I was wearing one, don't think for a second I didn't see the way you were eyeing me off at the AFR.

Time-out ladies. One set of fucked seals in 5 years is hardly shit. If the items in question had been returned like it was suggested then they would have been sent back and fixed under warranty. Expecting a seal kit when the company has expressly said that they won't send one for legal reasons isn't the smartest thing in the world - and neither is holding a grudge and bad-mouthing the seller because you get pissed off about it.... just a suggestion, eh?;)

Apologies for temporarily hi-jacking your thread JackTar - but I'm done now. Cheers.

ok so after a call with stu he has agreed to send my masters back to get them fixed and we have kissed and made up as tony put it and after all that time all it was just a simple misunderstanding on both counts and as a result i am happy to recomend him to anyone that wants to buy his products

cheers Rod

Somehow I don't think there is going to be a touchy feely kiss and make up session after spending $1100 for bits that didn't do the job.

Kissing usually comes before the act of getting fucked.

Looks like I was wrong, just hope you don't get fucked twice Rod.

If they failed once what's the chances of it happening again???

Look at how long a "factory" mcyl will last 10yrs? 20yrs? ?????

You're gunna stick a big fuck off turbo on predator and put your trust in a part that has already failed once???????

If you think you put the product to the test wait until that boost kicks in and you have to STOP NOW!!!!!!!

You're a brave, brave man mate!!!!!!

as this is my field of expertise ..il add my 2 bob ..hydraulic systems fail for a number of reasons as we all know but are generally reliable ..i understand [correct me if im wrong ]that the seals failed ...
so either
1.the seals were faulty to begin with ..hardly likely as they would have failed almost immediately
2.somehow foreign matter has entered the system.... dust dirt etc and this would gradually wreck the seals [like yer fork seals ]
3.the fluid has degraded the composition of the seals [ie the rubber in the seals is of the wrong material, btw this is why you cant use ordinary hydraulic hose for brake fluid it eats the inner tube of the hose
4. lastly the machining of the piston and or cylinder is out of tolerance [this . would produce little if any pressure at all ..and therefore would not work from day one ]

to get to the point im making the only way the cylinder would fail catastophically [as in the needing to stop in a hurry scenario]would be due to No1 or no4 [or in very rare cases mechanical failure as in the lever ,pins or other securing devices which would be visible] and these would be apparent as soon as you used the brakes the vast majority of hydraulic system failures are due to incorrect matching of materials to fluids ,or operating the system outside its design parameters ,re heat ,cold etc etc

no2 and no3 are by there nature, progressive failures and therefore gradually more noticable so the chances of a failure that would result in no brakes at all would be rare .....about as rare as the chances of winning the jackpot in a lottery

as a footnote ..a braking system is designed to turn kinetic energy into heat and friction ..so if the vehicle produces say 125bhp stock the brakes will be designed to overcome that amount of motive force plus a bit more and the system will genrally be tested to 4 times its working pressure [simplified obviously without taking into account velocity and tyres weight .road conditons etc etc
..faling all that you still have a woefully inadequate rear brake ,,and ..God lol

Just make sure before you buy one what the warranty conditions are!

You don't want to have to go through the trouble of throwing a hissy fit on a public forum just to get parts that work like they are supposed to !!!!!!!!

Isn't that right Rod ??????????

My bad Blowie. I didn't look at the link. Just assumed it was the same as I had. Those look like the old school type like on old Z's and such. For 50 beer tokens I reckon it's worth the try. Just get a good set of rose joints from your local bearing shop. The ones they come with are shite.(usually)
