hi guys I'm a fairly new mmember here.A while ago I found a watercooled gsxr750 turbo that had a newer subframe and tail section grafted on.The tail section was from a 2001-2003 Gsxr.
If anyone know what bike it is I'mn talking about can someone post a link to the members posting on how he built it in general:)
This site is awesome and there are so much good info here it's overwhelming sometimes.

watercooled frames can be easier cause they are a bolt on subby but also harder as you have to work with the current mounting points on the frame and they don't always line up to get the end result you are after

i put a r1 tail on my 750w and had to make up special mounting plates for the inside of the frame and they looked like the letter L but upside down. these then picked up the subby and continued up to the rear of the riders seat. i will try to find a pic of the bike but i don't have a pic of the mount plates sorry

I ended up putting an 05 R1 subframe onto mine which was quite easy with an adaption plate shown below. Bolted on straight up with bottom of plate bolted on inside of main frame on bottom bolt hole and the top of the plate on the outside of the top bolt hole. The plate ended up sitting almost perfectly horizontal...

bumping old post :-)

jakam04. What's the thickness of that adapter plate you used? I'm in the process of making a modified r1 subframe fit my gixxer :-) Have any more pics?
