Hey fellas was wondering where biking took off for all you nutters?

For me it was right into the dirt - I dont have any piccics of my 80's but i have finally gotten around to get pics of my 125 Enduro bike scanned up. Some awesome fun had on this lil trekker. I have some other pics somewhere where ive converted it all to KX plastics and had it set up for a flat track day.

it all started for me when i was 21 crached my VF1000, coulden't afford to pay to get it repaired so did it myself, i got some photos somewhere but would have to go through 1000's of them to find them. it wasent anything special but did full rebuild starting with bare chassis and working up from there, sadly however it was standard and not moded in any way.

First bikes were all Step-thu's, Other folks unroadworthy
cast-off crap, or Mates Dirtbikes used to race around Parents
farm or local Parkland about 30 years a go.
At 16 i got a Yam FS1E 50,
(Could only ride 50cc on L's at 16..
250 on L's at 17 back then in UK)
been messing about ever since.

First bike was a Honda CB100 with a 125 engine...and no charging system. Could go for miles with no lights...Indicators had an interesting on/off effect on the engine.
Pic above is first 'big bike' XS650 with a 840 big bore, bought the week after I passed test (the old figure of 8 around the block...remember that one Tony ?

I started with a half share in an XR75 which we modified by turning the handlebars upside down for the gp look. Also cut the exhaust off for massive blue flames at night.

First road bike was this GT250X7 I was a bit lighter back then so it went ok:D

I thought it was 125cc not 250cc Tony? Either way, it was this factor that delayed my bike riding career. I did fuck about on the old plastic pig c50 step thru and the Fizzys but handed them back after, usually covered in gravel or beer. I wasn't gonna ride around on no 125cc chook chaser. At 20 years old a mate took me for a ride into town on his then brand new release ZZR600. He went pretty well until he saw the lights change about 100 metres in front of him, he dropped it 2 gears and caned it. I discovered the power band. I had my license within a month after that. My first bike was a shitty GPZ 500 which I had for a week and then my seciond bike was, guessed yet?, a ZZR600 in black. I have some shots somewhere. As with most things in my life, the photos have been lost in history somewhere on my forever changing life and location.

Spot on ;)
GT250 "Super-six's", KH250 :D
Always managed to keep away from the 4 strokes except for
a CB250 and an XS250 (worst pile of shite ever)

Yeah Si, I still hadn't bothered about a licence when they
changed the learner Law to 125cc, hence the pics you saw of
my Licence gaining 125.

Before I ever heard the term Streetfighter, it was the
"Readers Specials" in the back cover of Performance Bikes mag.

Sod the embarrassment...... 1979/80'ish'

This is me with my Suzuki gp100 fire breathing machine i had in the eighties this is what made my mind up to be scary biker:D

I had the barrel bored out to accept the gp125 piston then I filed the ports out whacked a micron pipe on fucked about with the jetting and melted a couple of pistons along the way and hey presto just under 90mph.

Oh yeah i'm a bit fatter and less hair now but still
a dashing chap:D

I remember going back to a mates place back in grade 6 after school to ride his yellow 50 (Honda I think), and crashing the fuck out of it after only being on it for a few minutes. Had a few trail bikes (PE175 an CR125 & 250) before getting into road bikes.Funny story, My old man hated bikes. I turned up at home when I was 13 with my first bike (PE 175) knowing the old man hated bikes. He didnt see it hidden away in the shed for 2 days but when he saw it i got the lecture of a life time. I got home early from school one day and here he is riding it round the back yard. sneeky fuck.
best bike at the moment is the sv1000 i ride into bris (with no fucking bridges) vages each day.
