For those who didn't know.........

quote:Originally posted by Gix11

This year I have done as much as I can to make this as good as possible for everyone that attends. I have earned a grand total of $100 dollars this month from my own business because I have had no time to do anything apart from organise this event, including building the AFR website, designing the adverts and getting them ready, getting T-shirts designed, trophies, answering a million emails and phones calls etc, etc, the list goes on, add to that the fact that the current bill is $70000 dollars and I have had around $250 actual cash sponsorship (but a shed load of help from some fucking top Aussie guys that want to help this event and make it what it should be) and you get an idea of where I'm at. I'm taking one hell of a risk with this event this year to try and get some sponsors attention and I may come out the other side considerably out of pocket, but I'm happy to risk it for blokes that appreciate what I am doing.

The point of this post is simple..... everyone means it, some people do, some people forget, some don't get a chance some think others will do it for them. So i know iv'e done it and i know many more will follow, to give credit where credits due. These events don't just happen by themselves, people make them happen.

i just wish there were a few more around like like u and stu si
we wouldnt have this great opp 2 make something on par with bulldog and fighterrama
id allso like 2 thank all the members that have really got behind makeing this work
the time and money out off all ur pockets should be applarded
even just haveing a site 2 be a part of must be a massive task so thanks for all si
i dont mean 2 sound like im about 2 sux yr cock but my oldies have been mebers of a horse assoation
for over 30 yrs my mum has been ether presedent or secetry for as long as i can remember
i grew up a round the running of the assoation and 1 thing i know is they dont do it for the thanks
and for most over the yrs they have taken for granted the servises provided 2 them free and on good will
it has only been the few good poeple who have taken the time 2 say thanks that has made it worth while
thats y i think we should thank si and all those that make it posable 2 have a home and now afr
because of all the work that most of us have no idea that it takes 2 make this shit happen
feel free 2 take away my girly soap box lol

Due to some unfortunate happenings of late, i was unable at the last minute to attend AFR :-( :-( But I want to say thankyou to the guys for providing me with what would of been a great opportunity to expose my business to more people and have a tonne of fun by organising the spectacular AFR. Without events like this and people Like Si and Stu we would all have less interesting lives im sure!! I really hope that it was a huge success for you and the rain held off and people turned out in force. I am extremely dissapointed I could not make it this year as i was very much looking forward to it. You guys deserve all the success in the world for this event and what you contribute to the streetfighter world. Cheers

It was my first time there, was only able to come down and spectate for one day, but I had a ball. Loved the set up. If it was not for a few tech issues with the lights on the strip there would not have been anything I could fault about the event.

It has inspired me to build (modify) a bike to enter next year. Hope you broke even mate.

the former

unfortunately the weather did keep away the Brisbane weekender's i noticed. those guys that came down Sat morning and went home Sunday last year....

In saying that what makes this all the more dissapointing , apart from a few sprinkles in the mornings Sat and Sunday were great days and didnt have a pause all day for the weather...

top job by all involved, thanks
