Weather is fairly shitty here at the moment (I'm in Armidale).

If your going through here. Not sure which route you are going to take after Armidale, but the Dorrigo range road down to Coffs is currently closed due to Landslides. And there has been flooding further down towards the coast as well.:(

So check the roads guys. Nothing worse than havin to back track when you wanna be somewhere.

Hope the weather clears for you all - I'm jealous as all shit - I'll be there next year.

Cheers, Jed

The runway itself is classed as a dry runway so it will dry very quick due to the grooves. The stunt guys have told me they don't give a shit and love the wet and the bar is fully stacked full of like minded geezers. This is exactly how the weather was last year and the weekend turned out great. The village people told me it was fine today and recommend bringing a tarp just in case for under your tent if your camping.

If anyone really believes these forecasts they're mental. Get straight to the source and you'll see the storms have moved south since yesterday: http://mirror.bom.gov.au/products/IDR282.loop.shtml#skip Casino is clear!

I'm about 2 hours away and the sun has been shining all day.

Thier forecast is the same as last year's was: http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDN10060.shtml

jim, wasnt the flooding in coffs just flash flooding?

it would be ok to just go straight up the main coast road wouldnt it?

Nah fimp just hold it flat - if you come around a corner and your ears get a little wet it probably means you've ridden into a river.

Just curious, a question to those who have run on the strip before, does the runway chew tyres badly if you just do the 1/4 without a burnout? If I enter for a day I will need to be able to ride my bike after I am done.

The burnout is not a mandatory thing. I havent been on the runway at Casino YET.... The drag racing strips Ive had a run on didnt chew tyres at all so will see you there mate.

You wont need to do a burnout, the strip is pretty abrasive. Just treat it like traffic lights.

RED ZX
02-04-2009, 11:28 AM
Yeah I am not planning on doing any burnouts, just wondering if the 'cut' strip would be harsh on the tyres as is.
