First time on a streetfighter project.I was looking for something cheap I could start of with.Ran into this sport tourer for 1200 Dollars with rego.

It took a lot of degreaser to get rid of all the dirt.It looked more like a dirtbike than a roadbike.

she was bought as a pullet bike[8D], dead beaten. made a custom-made frame from steel tubing:

a swingarm came from fz750, which made the wheelbase 80 mm shorter:

Yes i'm from Denmark,but have called Australia home for 15 years now.

This is what I'm working on at the moment.I'm going to weld up a subframe to make it fit.Could take a while.

nice work dansk....those old FJ's have really strong motors in em,a mate had one that he flogged everywhere and never broke it :)

Need to by a small LED tail light with number plate bracket.Should I paint the alu plate black or leave it as it is??

Nice start mate - tho your right the tail is a little high. If you can make the top of the tail in line with the tank it would be sweet. If you want to see something different check out Sharkys FJ1200...
Speaking of which where is Rus, thought he would be on this thread like a fat kid on cake.

nice bike mate, who made the frame (and it quite co-respond to my idea 'bout my frame mod...shhhhhh!!!) does it have just 2 upper tubes as it looks? any more pics griff?

Sorry I didn't catch up with you today at the bike show mate.
I saw a tail in the car park pointing to the sky as I was walking back from the cafe and when I went to check it out, I realised it was your bike !

no way, mate, i dont mean mods to the frame, rather to the tank, a steel strap welded between the tank halves would make it look better, or you can try on another tank, i.e. from old zzr, they were really <s>wild</s> wide :)
