AFR Dragstrip volunteers

This is for anyone who volunteered for a bit of work on the strip and anyone else who may be interested in helping.

Basically, we need at least 4 and preferrably five bodies per "shift" and we have 5 "shifts" to cover plus setting up on Friday and dismantling on Sunday. We're going to need a Starter/announcer, two people at the start to get them lined up/check their helmets are shut etc and one body down the far end controlling the return run.

The shifts are-

Fri-

9:00 - 11:00? (setup)

and

13:30 - 17:00

Sat-

10:00 - 13:00

and

14:00 - 17:00


Sun-

10:00 - 13:00

and

14:00 - 17:00

You don't have to stand in the sun for 3 hours if we can split shifts and all spots are up for grabs (except maybe if someone with a manky leg etc wants to sit at the controls or mike for a while;) ).

Ideally if we can get extras who will fill in for maybe an hour it will let others have a run/swim/piss/buyashirt etc.


So anyone with a preference speak up now please and I'll get some sort of roster going.

While were on the drag topic, is there any chance on me getting a spot to take photos just in front of the start line, as its freaken hard to get good shots standing in the crowd and behind the start line.

If someone has a ute to stand in if your worried about safety and also adds to the shots.

Or even next to the start line crew would be good so i can get the crowd as a background.

Not sure what's happening there mate, I'll have to sort it when I get down there.

There doesn't seem to be many time slot allocations Large? Are you going to list them at the top - or have you fallen asleep in a pile of your own vomit again?

Yea, all forms drag racing forms will be handed in prior to the bikes going out so all it needs is for someone to identify the two bikes lining up for the announcer to tell everyone what bikes are going against each other and where they are from etc...

I've knocked up a basic roster. Anyone listed as "No Set Times" if you like to nominate a shift, it's easier than me assigning you a time.

As I said, we can run with 4 or 5 people, but if we get a couple more workers per shift, then anyone who wants to run their bike during their shift can do so while someone else fills in..

Hey Large i see i made it on both lists Sat4 10:00/13/00 will be ok but on Sunday i was hoping to go on the ride out {hangover dependent} .Hope is not to much of a pain in the arse.
