hi mates! from my exp its quite easy to build a shed from timber, not sure though, how long it'd last coz of ents [}:)]. if u dont have such a prob, u can make some posts from big diameter tubes poured with cement, weld brackets on them, connect with wooden bars and fix boards on thenm everywhere, not forgettin' bout the gates and the windows, the same with the roof; two weeks job for one man with a hammer and a saw; put some hydroisol above and , if u want it look really profie made, nail some apt roofing material. heres my ex-shed from inside... i also made a real thick layers of sand, 20 cm, and of concrete, 15 cm down the floor:

sitting on the carpet inside in the air-con rewiring the loom, too bloody hot outside in the carport, still deciding if i do a low mount exhaust or angle it the same as the tail, i got some old 62mm pipe off the 4X4 to run to the can, but i think that may be a bit loud, performance is not an issue at the mo.

wat carl, r u gonna fetch the exhaust from ur toyota? [:0][:0][:0]
............................

..................................
sick, man!!! but then, a snorkel too, so u can cross ur pioneer river wherever u wanna, fisho! ;)

[:p]

the exhaust is the old one from the turbo system befor i put the V6 in it,aprarantly they have given me 3 months to pay the rego on the 4x4 so i may be able to keep that rego'd yet.
without the 4x4 on the road the GSXR may just get 1 or 2 trips across a dry salt pan to my other fishing spot ;)
the cams arent actually oversize or anything, they are out of a similar breed of bike ,spose to be the same with a little more lift, let you know how that one goes, they should be here today or early next week:)
oh how life would be so much better if i could bring it inside[:p]

Surt- a shed like that would be bliss at the moment, yes white ants are a very big problem here, they have sure made a meal of this house. how the fuk is that table holding up that vise[:0], she's a beauty, i have to stand on mine to stop it from moving;), im just gunna weld some doors on the carport, piss the cars off outside and claim it as a bike workshop, my 4x4 has to suffer the elements and the ford...well, it's only just that, a ford :D. i do have a spare turbo Surt:), ive been reading up all i can, i DONT need the power and i havnt got the money, status is for people who actually mix with other people, none of that interests me , however just knowing youve done it yourself;) then its worth doing. fixed my stupid blinker problem, was the wire goin to the dash lights, i just cut the turn light wire and its all ago[:p]

why no roof thermal insulation carl? In my garage the roof is thermo insulated in the rear part , and not in the front part, so I can say exactly, in July, +30C, its like being in a oven staying in the front part, and definately not so hot in the rear!

i have no idea how it will go on the bike, seems bright enough wen i shine it out the back yard[8D] , those piss ant lights that came in the plate are good for putting you keys in front of to see if you got the right key , the light itself on there now is off a suzuki accross , dunno wot year , the surround is off the earlier lights on the bike , i just took the middle out of it;)

yup, agreed, in one level is the best to my taste too... u can use car optics from a jank yard, they have some lenses good for a space laser, also turnable-adjustable, if u can install a pair of solenoids to operate them ;)

that headlight looks tops mate... way better than the little twin things...

just for future reference though, or for anyone else using them, i found that a 32° flood and a 10° pencil beam both 50watt work brilliantly... the 20 or 30 watt flood bulbs they come with are shite...

I've hooked up both to run at all times... but for rego time i'll have the pencil beam come on when hi beam is engaged... had to get the angle right, as everyone i passed was flashing me and flippin me off!!!

bikes lookin great, by the way... keep it up...

:D i would have to put myself in the low tech Surt , no advanced decisions here , just cut , mock fit and weld[8D] , if your not sure before you weld then rip a branch off a tree, stripp the leaves(thats techical)and do a measure up, if you weld it wrong , forget the grinder , just bend the fuk out of it till it snaps off and start again;), and if the job in the vice on the ground is slipping around , easy , just drive the 4X4 on top of the vice:D, once its finished wipe the oil off the tyres of the bike, syphon some fuel from the lawnmower and go test it out[:0]

HAHAHA , i just pictured that movie where they had rockets n stuff on the front of their bikes , i cant remember the name of the movie but im sure someone will:D , they didnt have the technology of solenoids though , it was a good old wheelie that got the aim:D

recently saw a porsche cayenne movin' its eyes after a start-up..., no missiles though (cept maybe in the trunk) [8D]

well, i'd say there r 2 ways in bike customizin', wood call them as a low tech, when one customizes ones bike with munched paper and glue, and a hi tech, when the customizings held using more advanced decisions and components :D a bikes gunna look different from a stockie in either way, but... u no wat i meen ;)

:D i would have to put myself in the low tech Surt , no advanced decisions here , just cut , mock fit and weld[8D] , if your not sure before you weld then rip a branch off a tree, stripp the leaves(thats techical)and do a measure up, if you weld it wrong , forget the grinder , just bend the fuk out of it till it snaps off and start again;), and if the job in the vice on the ground is slipping around , easy , just drive the 4X4 on top of the vice:D, once its finished wipe the oil off the tyres of the bike, syphon some fuel from the lawnmower and go test it out[:0]

carl, truely tell ya, use a glue instead of welding, that'll make the process more advanced: japs already stick their cars with a glue! the frames are next! :D and dont hurt the flora, just because u need to measure somethin, use ur belt or wat... [V]

borrowed from a russian zine 'moto' scan, thus the quality, but u get the idea: take 4 pipes from ur neighbors water supply line and weld a new frame as long as how many seats u need, it doesnt matter if its come not quite straight, thats not substantial on the wheel base of such a length [^], just imagine how much staff u can bring with u to afr'10 [:p] perhaps u'll be even elected a king of fools :)

dingo

:D HAHAHA! thats classic Surt , my oldest looked at the pic 'can we do that dad?' , i would have to call it the GSXR stacker , [B)] thats dry

Surt
16-12-2009, 11:51 AM
:) dingo's stacker sounds cool [8D] u could use all UR leftovers Carl and even borrow some more from scotty mac [:p] u can also make new roads and 'directions' across the great australian desert on this thing, for 18-wheelers just fit in 16 gixer's motors i really luv the idea as im crazy about multy motor bikes /surts new crash / but have to leave it for the future as i of thrown away MY leftovers :D

hows ur hacker, last time i saw it in scotty mac's thread, did u pull it along for foto sessions? [}:)]

dingo
16-12-2009, 01:21 PM
haha , nah it was going good , needs a good tune once i get it back together but i pulled it appart to fit a '91 swinger and a 5.5" rear wheel,
got an '03-'05 shock to fit while im there and i want to re arrange the light so i can put a steering dampener in there somewhere.
im so keen to get it back together but chrissy has put a halt on everything, kids first hey :)
as for leftovers i just gave all mine away but between scott and i we could make an awsome bit of fun , i dont think it would be allowed on the road though :)
a bike for the beach races next year perhaps :D

dingo

just as a bit of interest for those who may have read about the cams i used,
here is a pic of the difference noticed , they were purchased as '95 600 katana cams?
but everything measured up fine and they run smooth as , i have since pulled the caps off and sussed it all out and all looks sweet , the only difference i noticed putting them in
my '91 750 was where they run on the lobes , appart from that some one looking for replacement cams could try these as an option , but please , 'disclaimer , they are working for me , you know the rest' :D

dunno if id spend up on a multi engine project Surt , i would rather just build one solid build'
though i saw a bloke a few years back trying to run 2 x yz 490 motors with a 465 bottom using a
fluid crank connector , never saw it finished but it would have been sweet.
love those magneto's [:p]
