Am I right in thinking that a 400cc bike is learner legal in Qld ?
The wife is still not sure about her ZZR600, prefers her CBR400rr.
One idea is to sell the zzzzzzr and when we get to qld I build her a fighter to fit her based on the 400's geometry.
Do you guys think it would be easy to sell the 400 up there ?

Nah, 250 is the go up here as normal mate, based on your age and the way you do your lessons. Although most of the training schools I know use CB400s as their learner bikes.
The ZZR is more of a tourer and pretty heavy so I'm sure she prefers the little CBR. Is she set on a faired bike? There's a lot more around that size that will make her smile again.
The 400 would probably not be too hard to sell. There's a guy in Nerang who specialises in 250s and 400s as he reckons the leaner/novice market is massive. My ex had a CB400 which she sold to the KTM shop. If you're looking private sale, I'm not sure, she didn't have that many bikes as the learner/novice isn't a confident buyer I'm guessing?

Just for the sake of it, this document contains the learner regs - page 16 onwards: http://www.monash.edu.au/muarc/reports/muarc240.pdf
