Gday folks,

i've never painted with 2pac paint before, so this is my 1st time, and since i had no booth, it was painted in my old mans backyard. im so stoked with how it came out i had to give ya all a sneak peek!

hopefully i will have it all assembled tonight. so i can then take it to a trimmer to get the seat and its pan modifed to fit up to the SV tank. the seats the last job to do on the bike (FUCK YEAH!)

anyhoo, PICS!

If there's an award at AFR for top custom paint applied in a backyard you'll shit it in. ;)

thanks for the comments guys,

large you can check the cosmo mica with spearmint green and lilac purple pearls (the rainbow TK is talking about :P ) in the flesh at AFR.

doc.... dont worry i had some issues with floating fluff shit that kept landing in my paint... 16x magnifying glasses and some tiny ass tweezers got them all out.

wasnt all roses tho, for some reason the tail, and only the tail developed some orange peel while i had it baking in the sun today. fucks me why it was just that piece, when i applied it, the paint was as smooth as the rest... aw well no biggie.. 1200 then 1500 then 2000 grade wet rub has brought it good followed by a cut and buff with a fine grade cut, and once i install the pieces i'll hit it with the swirl remover polish.

bikes fully re-polished now, and detailed as best it can be (it is a full use road bike after all). headlight mask and tail now fitted, also made new mount for the reg/rect. and new mount for the headlight, heading back to the shed to do the tank and the undertail tonight. tomorrow its the front guard and the hugger.

not looking forward to mounting the guard tho :(

cheers.joe.

PS. by some miracle does anyone have a spare speedo magnet and its sensor laying round for an acewell dash, they wanna part with?

Nice work jo - looks great. How loud is that gp muffler you go on there?

crazymofo
17-03-2009, 12:41 PM
LOL!! it aint a cobra gp muffler thats for sure,

i've cut off the can all together, (slash cut pipe i spose) the TL1000S has a full length headers akra 55mm system with 55mm dia pipes the whole way thru including the cans. it was so fuck off loud that the previous owner made baffles for it... i never used them and had them floating round, i had a brainwave and decided to cut the can and some of the link pipe off and use one of the tl's baffles in the end.

i dont know how loud it is cos i havent yet run the bike... tonight i should have all my wiring done, so should be able to fire it up. hope its loud but not as loud as the tillis.... that was so loud the neighbour thought it was thunder when it would sit idling in the garage.LMAO

brenden: no real progress on the tillis... SV has the priority.

cheers.joe.
