From the "If it sounds too good to be true,then it probably is!" department.
Anyone know why the green hornet (sorry Stan) in SF151 purportedly gets more GO as it speeds up apart from the reason stated in the article.I'd like to believe this to be true but I can't honestly accept that having the exhaust facing the front acts like some kind of turbo.Any theories[?]
It would make a good wind whistle :D;)

Yea. I read that as well. It has a plate an inch or so in front of it which deflects the air past the opening of the exhaust. Their theory is that the air swirls past and creates a vacuum which helps drag the warm gases out of the pipe, the faster you go the more air it drags, so (they claim) in effect it runs the same theory as a blow through turbo albeit working from the other end of the induction/exhaust system which means it sucks air out of the exhuast as opposed to forcing air in at the carb end. The theory is groovy and he claims the power is mad enough to make his hornet leave a K2 Gixer thou behind on a drag to 100mph. Big call hey?

Yeah i read that. Sounds like bullshit to me.
I have not seen one forward facing exhaust in F1 or MOTO GP. I think the best engine engineers in the world would have figured it out long before a pommy git with a fuckin slime green hornet.
PS Am i the only one that cant believe that Streetfighters mag could feature both 'JUDGE' and the 'Ausfirefighter' and neither of them make the cover?? (in Bens case the editor stated it was up to the standard of only a handful he had ever seen)Pommy c**ts.

i asked the nerds at work about that last week .. 3 out of 3 said its crap ... what gets me is if there is a vacuum that sucks tha gasses out bla bla bla why wouldnt that work with a can thats pointing to the rear , air flowing over the can is going to have a better effect at sucking out gasses cause its going in the same direction .. most likely that guy fluked his pipe lenght from the collector to can, best power is between 12.5 and 13 inchs , like boris said no GP bikes do it and they have a bit more cash to play with and work this shit out ,how ever unlikely its still possible weirder shit has happened

It's probably just because that bodgy exhaust has fucked up the power curve so much that it comes on the top end like an RM125 because his midrange has gone walkabout.
Some people really do have an unrealistic view of how fast they're shit is.
I've got a mate who STILL reckons his 97 3 litre V6 Magna was was an absolute power house.
