Ive decided to build this on a very tight budget as i dont have any money. So far all mods that will be done came with the bike.

Right mods have started.

Cut the sub frame off and fitting a k2 gixer600 seat unit and sub frame.

VFR800 sssa ready and waiting to be slipped in.

R1 shock will be slipped in at same time.

GYTR stubby can ready and waiting to be fitted at the same time as all above.

I will post pics of build and a write up as it comes along.

THIS IS STAGE 1 THE TRACK MULE.

Right spent a bit a time in the garage over the week end and this is what i achieved.

damo1
23-03-2009, 08:44 AM
first i chopped off the old sub frame and fitted the k2 600 sub frame.
I cut the top part right behind the tank mount and low and behold the the k2 fitted straight between them it was a perfect fit.

So i drilled the top rails out and then bolted the new one straight in place.

I made up some lower mount plates out of some R1 shock plates cut to size and i recon they look pretty sweet.

Just got to get gthem welded in place.

I also removed the bandit can and link pipe and mounted the r6 stubby right at the flange for the link pipe and made up a bracket that wraps right around it and bolts up to the old rear brake brace mount on the frame.

Cheers for that but that didnt help at all.

the screen thats posted up in your thread is different to mine and i got none of that stuff on this computer.

This is my missus lap top and it's got windows XP if that makes any difference.

I do know taht the file size for my pics is 3mb as appossed to about 70 kbs for all the others in my folder of pics.

Fuck knows how to fix that.??

Ill have to wait for the missus to get home and sort it for me, she's a wiz at this shit, i got no idea.

Cheers anyway ill get them up as sone as it's sorted at my end.

R6 can fitted up as trial fit it actually slipped straght in to the flange for teh link pipe and i made up a alloy bracket that goes the whole way around the can and then bolts back onto the frame where the old rear caliper brace used to go.

Eventually it will be a fighter but at the moment it's a track mule so it can stay.

I dont think the swing arm will make any difference to the can, as the only part it's close to are the linkages, and there heaps bigger than the vfr ones so shouldnt be a drama.

But if it does become a problem ill just change it at a later date.

Billy Bob
24-03-2009, 01:45 PM
Fuck Damo how many vfr's are you putting out of contention? there must be a huge pile of them sitting around with no swingers. lol, good stuff, im sad to see the 450 gone though.

pappas
24-03-2009, 02:07 PM
Hey mate, made a fair bit of progress already! Looks good! The carbies I got off DCRacing and they we're sold to me as 40mm's so my bad if they're 38mm I didn't check.

Billy Bob, I've got the 450 and I took it out on Sunday to Lithgow for my first ride on it. Top Ride and Top bike! Tell you what though I'm fucking sore! I haven't ridden in a while and every muscle in body is aching. Some that I didn't know I had!

You had better make up a crush pipe to go inside the old subframe, there's not much strenght in the piece of Al.

Looks good by the way

Get yr self a little bikini fairing and piss of the plastic.
BTW the pipe look cool as fuk

Billy Bob
24-03-2009, 02:57 PM
ARRRRR good shit im glad you like Pappas its good to know that somebody else is getting sore from it cause it gave me a fuckin workin over. ahh i miss the days in the dirt.

RUSS M8

Pipe looks good, and tail looks good. Turning out nice for a "cheapy" aye Damo! :)

damo1
25-03-2009, 10:29 AM
Latheboy; The fit up was just trial so it will actually get capped right in at th end and that should help with the strength and yea i will put a cruch pipe init to stop the bolts from coming lose.
Billybob;Yeah i was not that keen to get rid of the 450 either but as circumstances had it, it was not really an option to keep it.I did have my heart set on doing "The Condo 750" but unfortunatly the missus got made redundant and the savings dried up and there was nothing left to do it.
Once the decition was made by my self to pull the pin, i lost all interest and it had to go.
Pappas:Yeah getting there slowly mate the vfr800 arm will go in in about 7-8 weeks just waitig for EXBEN to get over April fools run and the gixer will be going down for a an up date on the rear end.
Glad to hear your happy with the 450 it was a wild ride and its a bike that took a bit to get your head around to ride at 10-10ths in the bush.
Banditrod; thanks for your approval;)
Scotty; A bikini fairing???? even the words sound gay! so unfortunatly the bike will run with full body work at the moment and then will go back to being a full naked streetfighter when the time comes to put it back on the road.
Cheers for the feedback on the pipe, Im pretty happy with it.
Russm8;Cheers for teh feedback and yeah it's coming together slowly.
im just glad that pappas sent all his money and all these trick bits so i can build a bike and not have to spend much of my own money cause all the big bits are already purchased.
So for that i thank you Pappas;)

damo1
29-05-2009, 08:03 AM
Righto i couldnt help my self and ive got the bike looking pretty fair at this point back to the fighter it needed to be.
http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1243636531.jpg

Heres the dash i knocked up,its just the orig idiot lights and an ico digi speedo.

The dash is for off road long distance racing and has heaps of trick options to it.

And i also removed the cross brace on the handle bars to open it up more.

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1243574815.jpg

So the can is now all fitted up and its very loud and offensive just like a good fighter should be,but still has a very nice note to it.

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1243568472.jpg

And these are the sub frame brakets weld in place

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1243554986.jpg

damo1
29-05-2009, 08:06 AM
I ended up cutting a peice of handle bar to make spacers to go inside the sub frame rails to stop the rails crushing then had them welded in place.

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1243633483.jpg

This is what it looked like on the trailer coming back from EXbens after having the welding done.

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1243619452.jpg

Just a different shot of the sub frame mount

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1243646975.jpg

And i got rid of the long and shitty looking gixer resivour and replaced it with the old one off my old blade
