you're supposed to let it dry first.

Gladwrap might protect the paint.

Smart fucker.

Is there a paint that is less likely to come off with a lot of wear and tear (when it is dry).

Just use your water proof eye liner

I doubt it, Jacktar. Have the same probs with mine. High wear area. Even anodizing will wear after a while. Plating would be best but can you plate alloy?

He could melt down his gold earings and plate it with them :D

Try the bitumenised paint. I have used it on my rearset mounts. The stuff is bullet proof. So long as you want black that is.

Annodised metal has very few pores (its why it don't rust) so paint just don't want to stick to it. Some times they will also put a very thin clear coat over it too. You have to rub it back to bare metal, prime then paint. But like bear said its a very high wear area. You'd be better of blasting and powder coating it.

^I thought about powder coating mine too! Would it hold up tho? Thought it might chip/wear out n end up lookin like shit!

Why must you be so hurtful Ivan? You know I cry myself to sleep every night thinking about the hurtful things you say.

Maybe try VHT caliper or engine paint on it. Could try PJ1 case paint. POR15 is supposed to have some good products too.

Gunna have to blast or strip it first. Then bake it for a couple hours after painting to harden it up.

Could always go the 2 pack route.

Be a trendsetter and lead the way.

The only durable surface you'll get will either be polised metal or anodised. Everything else will wear eventually. I've seen powdercoated rearsets before and they looked good. Just leave you're pegs bear metal tho - they wont last a month...

That is cool, was going to get some black anodised ones anyway.

A trick I use with those pieces is to bake them at about 180 degrees in the oven for 20 minutes or so them use Holts Duplicolour with their etch primer . Usually about 5 minutes between the primer and top coats before it fully cools down. Sets hard as a rock and is as tough as stove enamel . Fuck, thats the time , I'm late
