Pauline Hanson will announce her intention to contest the Queensland election as an independent in Beaudesert.

Former One Nation leader Pauline Hanson will announce her intention to contest the Queensland election as an independent in Beaudesert today.

It'll be the former fish-and-chip shop owner's ninth bid for public office.

And she could be in for a bigger fight than anticipated .. as former AFL footy star Warwick Capper's also expected to announce he'll contest the seat.

Ms Hanson's holding a media conference at 11 am (AEST) in the main street of Boonah, at the front of the community centre.

She was originally elected to parliament as an independent MP for the Queensland seat of Oxley at the 1996 election, after being disendorsed as a Liberal candidate because of her views on race and immigration.
