Hey guys, just joined up.

Don't actually have a streetfighter but that's kind of the reason I've joined.

I was thinking of part exchanging my 05' 1000rr for a scrapped busa and ripping off all the fairings, getting some drag bars, taking off pillion seat altogether/cutting it really short.

Anyone know how I can clean up what lies beneath those massive plastics?

welcome, you will find the answers to all your questions in this here pages.

i believe it is customfighter who has a busa with a bobber style seat, i am sure someone will post up the pic or link to it.

good luck with the fighter project.

Mine...

Old pic of Pete's before the "re-frame"...
http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/629/ntb.jpg

There is a bit of electrics to move,
some of mine went under the back of the tank,
Fuses went under the pillion seat so I can get to them.
Lot of wires/loom to extend and a bit of head scratching to hide,
but not impossible.

Top radiator hose exits forward so I had mine cut off and re-mounted
to exit backwards.

Front guard looks HUGE when you remove the fairing, had mine cut
down, didnt like the aftermarket. Was told to also look at late SV.

Clocks are BIG, I kept mine because I like the fault finding and
all the little extra's they do. Aftermarket would be neater.

Had some trim panels made up to fill the gap between the tank and
frame. There are off the shelf ones available, seach "Wild Hair"
acceseries in the US.

Busa mastercylinder clamps dont take mirrors.
GSX14 one's are a straight swap.

Stu off here supplied the ABM top yolk.
Get straight risers, normal "aftermarket" Busa risers are pullbacks
so the bars clear the fairings.

Still got the ugly plastic overflow bottle on mine,
wouldn't be rocket-science to change it if i was bothered

Rad and oil cooler sprayed black, mesh rad guards,
all new braided lines to fit the bars, bla bla bla......

Most stuff you come across isnt Busa specific, just the
same problems all the guys with Naked Sportsbikes have.

Thanks Tony mate. Looks like a lot of junk you can do without having to spend too much money.
I guess I could sell off the fairings to fund other bits & pieces if I weren't to buy a wreck.

All this has sort of come to me after trying to replace the coolant last night. fucken hell fairings are a pain, I can't wait to rip all those shiny plastics off a busa, hahah I wonder what the busa community would think after all the work gone into aerodynamics!!

Thanks for the welcome guys, you all read that UK streetfighters mag? I'm religious about that thing, my missus works in a magazine shop so I get the latest issues free :-D

Wireing got the better of me.
I worked out what and where I wanted,
Jim at HMR did the rest (with a cut up AUDI car loom)
