Hey,

So a while back I introduced myself as being a newbie and wanting to get a 600 and wanted to get some advice about what to look for, etc.

Anyhow, I picked an 1999 Yamaha R6 for a good price - 10months rego. A couple scratches on the fairing, only slightly though. Here are the specs:

- Custom FULL RACE exhaust (OVER brand)
- Anodised blue levers and tyre/valve caps
- Anodised blue bobins/ race stand bolts
- Custom hand grips
- Custom air filter
- Braided brake lines all around
- Oggy knobs
- 47,000kms on the odometer

Owner's claiming 130BHP...

So, I'm wondering. What do you guys reckon it's worth? What do you think about the horsepower claim?

Also, he says the gearing been changed for Philip Island - what impact'll that have for street riding?

Appreciate your thoughts/ comments.

Cheers

130HP[:0] maybe at the crank but not at the wheel, there is a 98 R6 at work and the best it's ever got was 99HP at the wheel. That is Dyno Dynamics HP and not DynoJet's, there is a differance.
As for the gearing, maybe its got longer legs now? dont know one of the racers can comment on that.
Ill give you $1500 for it;)

My thoughts on this one is ride like your at phillip island on the streets and see if it makes a difference.[:0]

These are probably from the sheer speed and the air is causing the scratching from it's 130 odd BHP [B)]

Glad you consider the anodised blue stand bolts a feature btw, I hate it when they are overlooked in a bike ad.

Yeah, I was pretty desperate for an answer - the guy was asking 4,500 with 12months rego - settling tomorrow morning if all is good.

Buy it with the condition that when you put it on a dyno ,"if it does NOT make 130HP at the wheel and not on a Dynojet dyno, you get your money back and keep the bike" ....
Does it have an Exhaustanator valve ? they are worth big bucks
