Hi Guys, I have spent my whole Saturday trying to get the AFR website done. It's just more than I can handle on one Saturday to get it all complete but I have done the important part which is the ticket sale pages. I will update the rest as and when I get time, but for now everyone has chance to get themselves a full weekend ticket for the weekend of the year!

Post any questions to me or here and I'll try and get to them later.

Cheers guys and thanks for your support!

http://www.aprilfoolsrun.com.au

UPDATE: I have now added NON RIDER weekend passes. Due to the shear scale of organising this, plus cost, and the hassle we had last year we are only doing 3 day passes this year for riders and partners. You don't have to stay the whole time obviously (or turn up on the first day) but we can't do "Two day spectator and one night camping but no this and some of the other" routine as it is just not viable and causes problems. I hope you all understand as I'm trying my best here to get this as a well oiled machine and pay the costs! I promise you it will be worth it!!

Si,

Will be buying my ticket shortly. Will the camping area be limited site area per person? I am bringing my camper trailer which will no doubt house a few other members as well... Will i be able to park my 4WD next to it to keep things cold in my engel (Milk that is ;) )

Des, as mentioned in my updated first post, we are doing full weekend passes for riders and full weekend passes for non riders. Daily entries will have to leave at 6pm before the night time festivities start.

Andy, just added them to the AFR website mate.

Jarrod, Camper Trailer is fine mate, the sites are even powered as far as I remember. I'll check it out for you if you want.

Fire away with any other questions guys.........

Gix11
17-02-2009, 10:28 PM
Hey Des, as yet we haven't worked out what the daily spectator passes and night time passes will be yet, we'll sort it nearer the time mate. Trying to organise the camping allocation and get rider numbers at the moment to work out schedules.

Si, I put in a bank deposit for 2 full weekend passes for riders and 1 full weekend pass for 1 non-rider but the "send details" button didn't seem to do anything. The money is sent though ($505). Just letting you know... Me and the missus had an absolute blast of a time last year.

Hey Ian, Great to hear from you mate! I'll have a beer with you track side this year rather than leaving it till the last day! Good on ya mate.

Can you email me directly with the details needed and I'll work out what the hell is going on with that damn form!

Gix11

Ok, that's fixed again. If you want to Ian, just use the form again on the AFR site as all I have to do is match the payment to the details. Cheers mate.

mate the one day tickets are always a bit of a pain but we still try to cater for everyone ....i was charging $80 last year for day passe's and this year there will more to do and look at ...:D

now on another note i ask as members we should be happy that there is such an event for us to go to i mean where else can you get all of this in a weekend ....the UK.

Right i am not trying to put anyone off but the sheer scale of organising this event is mental
and then when its getting close we have alot of people critising the way its going to be done..

we try our best to cater for everyone ..even though its a streetfighters event we are aware that not everybody is into them ...which is why this years cost have gone up it cos of the extra perks that we didnt have last year i.e. dyno shootout, freestyle fmx ...

now if i was planning to go for one or two days i would still pay for the weekend ...why you ask cos i know how much this site and this event will end up costs to run.As far as i am concerned it is totally worth every fucking penny ..up untill two years ago i hadnt even modded a bike properly then when the time come the info and comments from members helped me save thousands of dollars (not hundereds) and all we are asked to do is cover the running costs..
so to me that is way worth it ...

i dont mean to rant on but all year we have the topic running and we have alot of talk but fuck all action and i myself have done fuck all till now ....

so if helping out means $195 worth of awsomeness for the best time you will have all year then sign me up..............

Lance
21-02-2009, 03:10 PM
I totally agree that it will be value for money, but I just cant afford the weekend pass at the moment, I'm racing the weekend before and two weeks after, just bad timing! I will tell them to not run any race meets this time next year [:o)]

Hey guys, after much conversation and bashing of heads we have come up with the appropriately named "Pussy Whipped Pass" (we all know the real reason you can't come for the weekend). Check the AFR site to get full details: www.aprilfoolsrun.com.au - hopefully this will answer all the emails I've been getting and put a few minds at rest. One more thing, I have been getting so much feedback that I can guarantee if you thought last year was good, this year will mess with your head! I'm flat out busy with it but excited as all hell! Strap yourselves in...

I dont want a dyno run (standard motors) or to do a burnout (stunt guys are more entertaining),
and if i want to get a real 1/4 mile time (better grip)i can go to Willowbank.

So im riding down both days (TL then 14) pay $30 entry against $150

Just my 2 cents. :)

From schoies at bankstown. $160/hr wet. thats about $40 cheaper than the going rate elsewhere beacause it is run as a club(non-profit). AVGAS about $1.80ish a litre i think. i don't pay too much attention as the hire rate is a wet rate.

Not a 6 mate. they would run at about $350/hr.[:0] I'm thinking about 3.5-4hrs each way.its 330nm direct. Casino has no fuel so i would probably stop at Coffs for fuel. once i find out more details of when the aerodrome is available i'll let you know. i only have a VFR licence so that could be issues aswell.

If you can land on grass without problem the pilot geezers are having a "fly in" event over the same weekend from what I heard from Stu. They only use the grass next to the runway itself. Yes, that does mean you get chance to race planes on bikes. I have another mate that wanted to fly in as well so I'll confirm for you when I can.

Hey Si, Missed you at Casino on the weekend - we were there around 1.30pm however we did see some AFS shirts at the local servo.

We will try and get down to AFR around lunchtime on Thursday so we can give you a hand setting up. Will fix you up for the tickets then.

Will there be any powered sites available to be used ?

Anyway when we were there on the weekend we got a chance to see the strip and the huge area that I am sure will be full in April!

LET THE MADNESS BEGIN 3rd,4th & 5th .
