Pig Shooting /Camping Trip

Hey you lot i was just wondering if there is any one here who has access to a property which is in need of some wild pig eratication

as most of you know i am a shooter and i am a keen hunter which means i shoot paper and i also shoot vermin i.e. rabbits,hare's,foxe's,roo's(on permit) and i am currently learning the fine art of hunting deer ...but one thing i have been gearing up for is a pig shoot/camping trip but the only problem is i have no where to go i have heard that there are some good places around south west NSW but i have only heard rumors so if there are any places you could recomend or even help me get into that would be great i have been trying to plan a trip like this for 10yrs and only now i will have the time/money and firarms to suit

they are a nice fucking machine mate i just brought a h&r handi rifle 45-70 two days ago and its a fucking mean piece of machineery no scope purely designed for mass trauma at close range i.e. pigs and i also have a ruger 220 swift and can borrow a howa 308 and my mossberg 3 shot bolt action slug gun 12ga good for 100yds this one is my fav so let me know what the plan is and i will be in for sure and prob bring a carload with me for a week or so

don't know of any properties but i can certainly verify that there are plenty of wild pigs around. Just offer to shoot some for free, most of the blokes will be happy they don't have to pay for the ammo. Oh and i'm sure you already know but carry a big knife or pistol, i have heard a few horror stories of angry pigs not going down no matter what you lay into them with.

i am sure my 45-70 will make short work of any pig you can put in front of it and i have heard a few horror stories myself so i will be keeping a good eye on the fuckers thats for sure i also have a nice pig sticker mate and have used it plenty of times just never on a pig but i have watched plenty of vids on them but i am confident i can handle one of them without any dramas

45/70 is a great caliber, i got a lever action Marlin 45/70. Light, kicks like a .22cal so you can shot it all day long and it'll puncha hole straight through a fire extinguisher:D little one in big one out[}:)]

known this feller since school, great tracker and hunter, prefers to do things the old fashion way, all hands on, mainly go goat hunting, sometimes wild cattle and pigs, maybe next years afr you'll have to come up a week early and we'll go out to tenterfeild for a trip, bit hard to strap the rifle on the back of the fighter though

A bit late Rod, but I've got a property thats got pigs, goats, some deer, dogs, foxes etc according to the owner. I haven't checked it out yet but I have access to it when ever I want. I'll be checking it out with a mate and a .270 and 6.5 in the coming weeks.

My Uncles and Cousins go to a place called Barradeen every year to shoot razorbacks. But its in NSW, so i dont think thats any good for you Rod.

The two properties my grandparents own have fox issues, no pigs or rabbits.

Hows the property hunting going fellas, i just got of the phone to one fella and hes got no pigs about at the moment but he's checking out a prop for me with the owner, as soon as i know ill get on here, its been a long time for me to get out on the piggys, most of the winter is spent chasing deer for me and my son.

Got a few places Cooma way I shoot pretty often. Apart from the usual bunnys and the odd roo for the dogs we've pulled 10 foxes and 3 cats over the past few weeks.

I'm in the process of buying a house about halfway between Canberra and Batemans Bay. Its only on 4 acres but I'll most probably have access to a few thousand that joins onto it. fucking Pigs galore out there too. There were sign and wallows everywhere while I was walking through the bush checking the place out.

In about 5 weeks I'll be able to walk out of my back door to go for a shoot :D
