Hi Guys/Girls,

Just thought I'd post up a pic of my new toy, I only picked it up last friday so I haven't had much chance to strip her down yet...

I think she's got some good potential...

Hi sa77an. Nice blade . I have not seen any 929's fightered(though i am sure many have been done). Not sure why as it has USD forks and a much slimmer nice looking tail section. If i remember correctly the tank has a high weird shape on the bottom of the tank. like a cutout up towards the headstock. Be good to see what it looks like all dirty and nekkid.

Judging by that oil patch I'd say that was about as far as it was going to go for a while mate.

Hey Boris, I love the dual calipers on the rear! Way trick, and the exhaust from below looks F1. Nice blade, I might get one. How tough are the motors??

Its not mine. Its just a pic off the net to give an idea what they look like.

How tough are the engines?...........Its a Honda.

Boris, you don't see big HP blades....why is that? Or do I stand corrected?

My blade has 125000 k's on it and has not even needed a camchain. I would say thats pretty tough.

I guess most blade owners like going fast around corners, not just in a straight line!

Hi guys
Sorry about the delay with reply(computer problems)

Looks like my plans are on hold for a while (need a better job)but I suppose I'll have more time to decide what I want to do.

I hadn't really noticed there weren't any 929's fightered and I really see what you mean about the tank...

Dont let the tank stop you. I think you could make up some nice mesh pieces to not make the airbox so obvious without stopping your air intake. The bike is begging to be nekkid!

Yeah Boris for sure, gunna have to start slow though govt has just bent me over [:0] so have to start saving again...

So I guess first few mods will be just taking bits off and polishing the stuff that goes back on...

Matee, without being a smartarse, its all well and good to claim 125000 kilo metres without changing a cam chain, but you'll be pissed at yourself when the fucker lets go and your left with a pile of scrap metal.Big HP litre bikes should have the chain replaced at about 80 000 kliks if you have any respect for your ride.Cam chains are only cheap and easy as piss to replace.Nuthin worse than having retarded cam timing.[:X]

Gday Davo

i bought it with 120,000 and the first thing i did was get a major service as the bloke i bought it off had owned it from 30,000 and said the camchain had not been done(i dunno if he was full of shit). It took three shims and my mechanic said the motor looks great and the camchain is fine after i asked about changing it. I have put a bolt on can, pods and had it jetted on the dyno three weeks ago. It came up with 119rwhp.

I was just using it as an example of how good jap motors can be.

Trust me no-one would be more pissed than me if it let go.

08-10-2006, 11:17 PM
if the bloke you bought it off told you the c/c had not been done the chances are it had not been changed,i cant imagine why someone would tell you that if they had changed it so i doubt he was full of shit.
I guess it comes down to how hard the bike has been treated mate, ive seen alot of stretched chains before and ive seen the damage caused when they let go.And i know that some mechanics dont like to create extra work for themselves. Each to his own,but thats my 10c' worth.
cheers Borris

Yeah not changing it isnt exactly somethin to brag about.

I trust the wrench i use. Thats good enough for me.

Just keep in mind the bloke i bought it off used it as a commuter between Lake Munmorah and Sydney so he must have a screw loose! imagine 300km, five times a week on a mid 90s sports bike. He must have been a masochist.

Haven't had much of a chance to change much on the bike - too busy riding it - but she did get a bit of a polish up for a model shoot the other week...

I am prety stoked that the photographer put them on his site....
