When I was about 18 (yeh, a long time ago) the Bulli guys where calling for volunteers, so me and a few mates put our hands up. Turned up the first time, got handed buckets and sponges to wash the trucks and stuff then went down the oval to kick the footy around then off to Hoopers for an ale or 2.
Next week the same thing, and each time after that the same thing.
They never once even looked like giving us any sort of training. So we dropped the washing, footy and went staight to the pub instead:D

I gather ur talkin about the people, dunno bout the tamb rurals, but woodhill and jimboomba (I had a mate in both) were a bit the same, like a damn home and away script was being played out.

I do however thank the guys who are working hard in any rural brigades. Especially the guys who turned up to the crash my mate was in, and others like it, fuck that shit for breakfast lunch and dinner

I just saw the news - FUCK ing HELL - I have never seen a bushfire death toll this big, why the hell isn't everyone just packing the hell up and getting as far aways as they can before the shit gets close?
"MAY BE 230 dead" Im in awe at that number.

Has anyone been sent down?
