I've got a mate who is just getting into bikes (about fucking time). I know that Qride now puts you onto a 250 for 12 months before you can go to an unrestricted. Does anyone know of any more changes that i should know about?

Best solution would be to check their website then you know the information is true.

does the LAMS list still apply? because it isnt just restricted to 250's it is a power to weight ratio thing.

Nope looks like that's the only change. No LAMS laws in QLD opindown.

how fucking crazy, NSW was stuck in the dark ages with the 250 restrictions then we finally get LAMS.

QLD had a more liberal aproach to licencing has now gone backwards with 250 restrictions and no LAMS for now?!?!

who the fuck makes these laws?

Suzuki are / have brought out a LAMS approved SV650. The restrictors are in the fuel management system and are easily dodged apparently. Got this information from a sale dude at peter stevens in Melbourne when a mate was hunting down a bike. Maybe one of the blokes in the trade can verify this.
