Finally started the build on my '00' zx6r. This is what it looked like to start of with. The pic is of the good side, other side is all smashed. That is how i got the bike cheap

Headlight unit off, new top plate from ausfr which is of high quality and fitted perfectly. Also cnc headlight bracket and twin headlight.

Next i have to make a custom bracket for the original speedo and extend all the cables and brake lines.
also will be fitting a screen.
quick question what do i do with the breater hose that comes out of the frame under the headlight unit? Not the 2 big ones that come out the side, the little 15mm or 16mm hose that you can just see under the new headlight unit in the above photo!

Pull the tank and airbox off, drill a hole in the airbox, pull the hose back through the frame and jam it in the hole. Make sure you make the hole just big enough for the hose so it stays sealed.

Done a bit more over the weekend. I did the airbox mod for the breather hose. Thanks for everyones help with that. I also made a speedo mounting bracket which mounts on the unused holes of the std bar risers on the triple plate. just have to do the cables and brake lines and then i will be able to ride it!:D

Nice start man! I think a short term modd should be to stumpy that pipe on it! Or locate another pipe that you can do it to if you want to keep the stock one for rego checks. Looking good buddy, keep up the pic's.

lookin good mate, my bro has the same bike and ive been trying to get him 2 fighter it for ages!!!
may i make a suggestion tho?? maybe try changing the front mud guard, i reckon the stock ones are far too bulky imo
Also, if your thinking bout changing the muffler, would you be interested in a slightly damaged CF muffler??? Ive still got the old ones of my bro's bike(good candidate for shorty)

I reckon keep the front guard but chop some blue chrome mesh into the sides. Some blue silicon hoses and a bit of elbow grease on the headers would have it looing pretty spanky. Nice work buddy.

Thanks for the good words guys! I will doing all the bling bits slowly just got to get it back on the road first. I will changing the front gaurd eventually because that one is actually all broken.
what is the best way to clean those headers up? steel wool?
was thinking about making the pipe a shorty today actually.
