Yes I believe it is. And yes I am awaiting the arrival of a similar unit with a 2.5inch LCD monitor. Jo already has one to go on the gsxr but still hasn't posted it.

15-08-2006, 09:21 AM

Smoothed down welds, just needs a couple of coats of silver and a few brackets and thing chucked on and it all done.

18-08-2006, 10:28 PM
ive used a similar concept Clit, but my vertical section is mounted to the inside of my race glass and bolted to the subframe instead.
just wack a slab of foam on it and you've got yaself an oldskool dragster(with a sissy bar of course);)

Gix11
18-08-2006, 10:47 PM
You've lost me with that one Clint. Whats with the verticals?

Iceman
19-08-2006, 10:44 AM
It goes something like this
http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/upload/678688764107472.JPG
There is nothing from the backrest to the tail light, just fibreglass.

Gix11
19-08-2006, 11:00 AM
Bingo! Now I get ya mate. I kinda guessed later on, the height just looked a lot more without the plastics on.

mini fukin indicators

Iceman
30-08-2006, 10:31 PM
C'mon Davo, mini indicators were the first thing I bought for my GS and that one simple modification has lead to me now having an unridable, half finished, cool look'n commuter bike taking up pressious room in my over crowded shed.

Gix11
30-08-2006, 11:16 PM
Davo, out with the big guns tonight hey mate? Give the guy a break - he's gotta start somewhere? God - why am i such a diplomat? What a wanker........ (now I'm talking to myself.)

Press on mate, I wanna see that thing finished! Don't worry about the others.

That orange GS was build for show purposes only- to get attention. (That bloke started his own Streetfighter shop).

haha, i stole your idea for my subframe [:P]

hows the tail bolted to the subframe icey?

Standard rearsets with 98 Honda fireblade pillion pegs, took a bit of milling to get them to fit but got there in the end. The angles are all right just that the thickness was a problem.

Two bolts at the front of the tail unit through the factory Yamaha holes into the factory Suzuki tank mount bolt holes in the frame and one through the back rest into the custom subframe.

fimpBIKES
01-09-2006, 04:30 PM
cool

i was thinking about 2 vertically down near the front into the subframe and then two into the vertical bit behind the seat
that way once the seat goes on (was thinking i would just velcro it down) then the bolts would be hidden ;))

anyways, thanks for the inspiration

Iceman
01-09-2006, 04:34 PM
Just make sure there is some kind of support under the seat, you don't want to break the tail off on the first big bump you hit.

Gix11
29-09-2006, 05:12 PM
Gotta love that micro can. The way the tank and the tail come together and follow that line, plus the seat all look like a really good job mate. Very tidy. You just need to lose those old side panel mounting holes off the tank now.

That's a top job you've done with the GS. I won't be going to those extremes with this one.
