TurboKat

I thought about it & disgusted it with Timbo & Jo but realistically -> [V]
Last time I went to Confusion it took me several days to get sober again so I'd rather not ride from Licola to P.I. in any state but wide awake - going the back way is an awesome ride & I'd rather give it a bit of a nudge & enjoy it rather that be thinking 'Are we there yet?'
I've got the option of a house @ P.I. for the Satdy night with a bunch of Racer types so that's an option for me (weather permitting of course ;))
It's a Cuntasourus Rex that Confucious & the Classic are on the same weekend every year but life wasn't meant to be easy eh? :(

This is called "The Beast"
It's a CBX 1000 6 cylinder, a few of us were wondering how the fuck it got around corners without its wide-as-a-block-of-flats engine dragging along the track.
There was another one racing which was finishing in the top 8 or so & my mate Laurie reckons it was near impossible to pass him because the bike was wallowing so much in the corners that you didn't know where it would end up on the track - heaps of poke in a straight line though & very well ridden.

GSX 1100 powered Mc Intosh.
I'm fucked if I'd be racing this, I'd have it in the loungeroom.

Beautiful Gee Pee Zee 900 in the pits, I think it's owned by the bloke that runs Manta Engineering - purveyors of fine billet sexyness for race bikes & other bespoke bits

This is Kiwi Craig 'Smithy' Smith's spare engine (regular visitors to Oldskool Suzukis Aircooled section would be familiar with Smithy's exploits, he has developed & built one of the worlds most powerful 2 valve Suzi engines)
The "Armageddon" engine in his racebike makes over 160 HP & the one in the pic has a piddly 135 [:0]

A good day all told, got a bit sunburnt, caught up with Booster, Timbo, Gibbo & a few others, the day was seriously spoiled when the last race of the day (Forgotten Era International Challenge) was red flagged halfway through the last lap due to someone falling off & not getting up.
That race saw Wayne Gardner get a 4.5 sec lead over the rest of the field by lap 2 (8 lap race) on his T Rex built CB 900, Malcolm "Wally" Campbell on an RG 500 got a shit start (the smoker didn't get off the line well all day... because it's a 2 stroke) & had to get past 4 or 5 guys to get into second - which he did with 4 laps to go, he chased WG down to the tune of a second a lap & was less than half a second (1/2 a dozen bike lengths) behind him going through the fast turn 3 kink on the final lap when the red flag came out [V] general consensus was that Wally would have undoubtably got him & won it [8D] It was a massive letdown for what was a classic David & Goliath battle of 2 former Aussie racing greats - shit happens I spose. :(

Mate who was pitting for Peter Guest had a heart attack whilst helping push and doing shit.

Luckily Peter is a full on Ambo and has been for years and sorted it out and took him to Wonthaggi hospital.

He's held up in Monash at the mo' looks like everythings OK fucken lucky boy to have Pete sort him out.

He'd be spewing he missed the racing though.

I must get down to one of these events they have some awesome bikes and ex champion riders there.

Ken So am i ;) Kim did ok, sorted her clutch problem, but the bike was breaking down a little on the straight.

Bike just needs a bit of glass on the nosecone and bellypan.., got off real lightly realy, would have been quite pissed off at myself if i did more damage, only 5 weeks till the salt, and need 2 arms etc to prepare..

Uncertanty of the landright agreement and how dry or not the salt is makes it hard to plan .
