View Full Version : Project 7/11 Stage 1: The Changing of the Guard!

Hey boys n girls! Been ages since iv been able to tinker with my bike but finally we have some progress, however small! I picked up the front guard of a KTM RC8 from a race glass company in the states jst b4 chrissy! Now I'v finaly got it fitted:

Dropped the front wheel out to remove the original K4 Gixxer guard:

Was left with this:

Then this:

Test fitted up the new guard:

I could use the proper top mounts on the front of the forks, but had to make up some little tabs to take up the bottom holes:

Then I had to cut the back of the guard down, & re-drill it to take the rear mounts:

Then I stuck everything back together to make sure my handy work would fly:

Then it was time for a quick coat of streetfighter black:

And refitted everything...again:

Yeh I'l have some more up soon! Right now the tank is off n half the bike is in pieces! Hopefully have more either tonite or tomorrow!

Nice work mate. Huge fan of the "Stealth Black". Good call on the donor guard.

you could cut off the bit to the rear mount and just use the front 2 if you want
thats all i use and have no worrys

Mate the angular lines of the fender go really well with the seat unit and mirrors, real stealth look about it. I bet the Aussie old bill have a job picking that up on the radar gun.

Yeh mate its loud as fuck! HaHa! We put it on the dyno @ Motogp n the guy hopped off it, grabbed a set of ear plugs, shook his head at me laughing & jumped back on! LoL!

Check out page 11 on my thread mate, and read the bit from Debaser on his baffel conversion. He said when he started it up a flame about 2 to 3 feet long shot out the back, lol. I was telling my mate over the road about it and that I had done the same conversion, and he said when you start it for the first time we should set up a vid cam and youtube it ha ha.

I like it :D Think the overall lines match well :D I like streetfighter black so much I stock up on cans when there is a sale lol :D
