taking 6" off the pipe will make a differance porky..mostly to the mid range,make sure there's heap's of packing in the can.if your getting flat spots in the rev range drop it into the local dyno tune shop and they'll tweak the carb's,if ya gin with the pipe your playing with the back pressure on the motor...hence flat spot's. you might be lucky and have none.
