This one's not so much attention grabbing photos of bikes but the bikes themselves.

Every day I go past the supercarclub in Mosman which is effectively a timeshare arrangement on very fancy cars for rich gits. A few months ago a BMW 1200GS appeared in the windows and then a 1098S so it caught my attention. The a month ago a pair of Bimota DB7's arrived and things started getting interesting. Last week they've got a Desmosedici and last night another one, it's getting silly now.

They're not showing on the site yet but it seems if you're feeling rich you can sign up to borrow their bikes (or cars, whatever) for a given number of days a year. Any takers?

I wonder what one of them Ducati's looks like without a fairing?

$17000 a year is a bit much just to rent something.

I'm hoping this recession kicks in and after all the <s>W</s>bankers jump off high buildings, I can pick up a Desmosedici for about 20k[:p]

Then I'll ditch the fairings and ask Sweary Bob to make me a nice frame...

...maybe out of copper...because there's not enough copper frames out there...

...It would start out being super polished, but after a month or so I'd get bored of polishing it...

....I reckon I like that greenish colour that church roofs go...

...Maybe a purple tank to give that Porsche 917 Psychodelic look from the '70s...

somewhere in the world someone must have wrapped one around a tree and there's a donor engine with your name on it :)

Having said that, the engine alone doesn't do it, I'm sure a turbo VFR motor makes the same noise and power and is a lot easier to achieve. It's the whole package that gets my juices flowing

I'm sure somebody could make a 1000hp Hyundai too....but what would be the point.

Wherabouts you based DD?

I go past that place a few times a week and keep seeing the Bimotas, an Arial Atom and that RR from last week. I was think of offering a few hundred to have it for a day, but the rules look kinda tight.

No point at all, but if you took that 1000hp hyundai motor and popped it into a Berkin chassis (or Ariel Atom to keep it on topic) then it would really have a point.

I'm in Manly so it's right on my path

let me know if you succeed with your offer, I'll be the second in the line (which goes around the block):)

I can give you a tragic story that links the two: back in 1996 I sold my 916 as I just couldn't afford to keep it on the road and I was too paranoid to ride it like it was meant to be. As we had our first kid on the way the money from the Ducati was then blown on buying our first car, a Hyundai of course.

It wasn't all bad though, some of the money was diverted into buying my first race bike as well, Honda RS125, so there was balance maintained in the universe.
