Ok its organised now. Its a combined effort between ASF and Dragbike. The date is 28th of Febuary. From 10.00am till 5.00pm. Location is Skips Performance Motorcycle Centre Unit 2, 12 Christensen Road Stapylton, Queensland 4207. We will be having a sausage sizzle and soft drinks for sale. I reckon it will be a good fun day. Skip said he will drag the dyno out of the workshop and put it in the carpark under a shade sail so everyone gets a great veiw.

Might take up the ASF gear stand as well just to make things more interesting. Maybe Stu and Pommy Choppers could do the same?

Shayne, I just saw this on another forum (BB)
anything in it ?

I noticed this dyno day and thought I might take my track bike down however I noticed the address is advertised as unit 2, 12 Christensen road Stapylton.

I drive past there every day and I dunno whats going on...but Skip's sign has been painted over and there appears to be a sign writing company in there!

I used to see them testing bikes up and down the street but haven't seen them doing that for ages. So have they moved?

Shayne, can you check the address on the poster.

I've been told he has moved, but not far,
somewhere near Yatal Pie's ?
Is that right or wrong ?

Thanks,

Thanks Tony the address has been updated. I wasnt aware it was wrong till you said. Just had trouble getting the new address till now. Skip has also said there will be trophies donated by Skips Motorcycle Performance Centre, and they wont be just for the big HP bikes which is great for everyone.

Should be a good day, trophies, bikes, dancing girls, sausage sizzle, music, strippers, pole dancing, well some of those things will be there. It will be at least a good chance to check your A/F ratios and to see how much those mods have improved your ride. A good fun day.

Hey ladies - I have confirmed that I'll hobble along for the day with a bunch of products to display as SOMEONE has not finished the bike yet(plus there's the fact that I'm a total cripple and couldn't ride my daughters scooter if it was for a million $ right now, but that's irrelevant!). At the moment I'm thinking about bringing some lids (one of each size), rego tubes, bar end mirrors, some RACEFIT cans, a couple of top yokes, bars and a couple of fighter headlights.

IS THERE ANY PARTICULAR ITEM THAT ANYONE WANTS ME TO BRING DOWN FOR THEM??

Trophies were finished today. Sausages, onions and bread sorted. Drinks too. Trophies will be presented at 3.00pm. (if you want to be in the running for a trophy be there before 3.00pm) But the dyno will be going till 5.00pm. If you want a beer its BYO, but ill keep em cold in my esky for you, no charge ;). Skip will be providing A/F ratios for those interested in changing jets/pc settings. Also the dyno is set at a true HP reading. No fudging the figures. The HP on the graph is what your bike has (+/-2HP) Join in have fun, talk bikes, enjoy yourselves. Kids are more than welcome.

Good news about the A/F...I've got new filters, jet kit and exhaust system.....might have a bit of 'tuning' to do.

Had a good talk to Skip today, he is more than happy give advice, also its a great safety thing, if the A/F goes extreme lean the bike is shut down before damage.

How big is his a/f probe ? I need to put a hole in the end of the supertrap heat shield so I can get a reading.
Oh, and this time there will be a BIG RED LIGHT when it hits the red line which can't be ignored....unlike a certain G.C. bike show dyno bloke....rev'd it 2200 rpm over the redline :(
Will there be somewhere suitable available for jet/needle changes ?

Its all good Russ, there will be plenty of space for working on bikes. Also if your worried suggest that you ride the bike on the dyno, ive done it before.

Cool. If you get a chance can you ask him what size his probe is....I'll drill a 13mm hole in the heat shield...that should be big enough d'ya think ??

My GSX11,

Running waaaaaaaaay rich, off the scale! Lots of grunt but only 85.48 pony's.
Carb's are coming off to be rebuilt / jetted / reset soon. Then try again.

Won't get stressed over it, still more fun than my Busa or B-K and gets ridden more.

Looks like a good day out...I'm pissed I missed it....
The problems turned out to be a 'high flow' humpty fuel tap...that dribbled fuel...and a slight oil leak that the exhaust wrap had been soaking up for a week or 2...
Hooked up my old pingel tap with an adaptor from a car shop and washed the exhaust with thinners to remove the oil...and fixed the leak...obviously.

Test run tomoro...if all goes well I'll get a new tap for next w/e at the Leading Edge Motorcycles OPEN DAY

Seems Skip knows his stuff so I'll be taking a trip down there before the AFR.

Hey guys thanks for a great day. I was happy with 125hp was not happy about being pipped by 3hp for naked hp (congrats Harry):(. Looking forward to improving the A/F ratio which spent half the time off the bottom of the graph (4 jet sizes too rich according to Skip). The trophy will be going straight to the pool room ('cept i don't have a pool room). Looking forward to AFR and doing it all again. Congrats to Tony and Tony on their B-kings.
