is there a way to work out the diffrence between powder coat and paint? my rims are no longer the standard black they came in as they have been changed to a shit sorta mustard colour. i have been told you can powder over powder but not over paint. thing is im tight and dont wanna fork out tha dosh to have them blasted if ican avoid it.

uhm
well
powdercoating will always be better than painting them either acrylic or 2 pac, simply because powdercoating is a lot more durable than either of the other paints. for rims, it doesnt cost a whole heaps either. i think i was quoted 150 bucks to get mine blasted and powdercoated

sorry i dont think iwas to clear. im getting my rims powder coated. the colour was changed before ibought the bike and i dont know how to tell if new colour is paint or powder. if it is powder i can save some money and not blast them.

pour some petrol on it. if it gets eaten away its acrylic single pac
if it doesnt its either 2 pac or powdercoated.
how to tell the difference between the last 2 im not too sure
