Hi guys,

hoping someone can help - I'm looking for someone to get my engine running as sweet as it used to - seems to be running super rich and rough since it hasn't been on the road for a few years :(

Ideally someone out toward Narre Warren would be great - if it's a willing member who will work for beers (&/or cash) then that's even better :D - keeping in mind the bike is not roadworthy or registered so needs to be transported unless worked on site (makes beer delivery even easier).

Cheers

John

Just to clarify - any recommendations on shops/businesses is fine (not just looking for cheap options here ;) )

What sort of bike?,have you looked at the air filter?, changed plugs/fuel since?
If that is to much for you, call redline in dandy and spend the dough. She'll be runnin sweet again.

scotty: It's a 95 CBR600 - have cleaned the K&N filter, fresh fuel in the tank, new battery, good plugs - still no go. I've been working through the workshop manual but I'm still not 100% confident on stripping the carbies down (if required).

Thanks TurboKat - pm on it's way soon

I reckon we can manage that Scotty, and while we are on the subject, I might just throw the GS's head in the car coz I need help changing the valves.

sounds like the carbs need a good clean, bit of mold fuel dried up in there blocking shit up, same thing happened to the ZX7 when i left her sitting for a while

well things are looking better already...

I rechecked all the plugs again this morning and noticed they weren't looking great - and one possibly wasn't even firing (albeit only a few 100 kms on them before bike was taken off the road)

Fresh plugs and blam! Idling as it should be...

Not 100% smooth - but to be honest it's been that long since I last had it running as it should that I can't remember how lumpy it was/wasn't!

As a result I'm not sure if carbs actually need a look at - but more that happy for you guys to swing past for some advice ;)
