gday folks, bought an ol' cheap 1992 RM 125 dirtbike

now im having some drama's with the clutch, it wont fully engage. meaning i put in gear, pull the leaver and try and roll the bike... NO GO!

ive put a new cable, pulled the clutch pack out and inspected the plates/fibres all seem good, there was some slop on the pushrod thingo (tech term there) that pushes the center of the pressure plate, ive shimmed that out to reduce slop.... no change.

the clutch springs seem tired, i can compress them with the index and thunb quite easily, dont know if thats normal for 2 smokes (1st time with them)

i can certainly feel the resistance in the leaver as the clutch takes up but it still doesn't fully engage for some reason?? any ideas as to why??

many thanks in advance

cheers.joe.

Prob a silly thing, but make sure you are using the right weight oil...
Other that that, if you reckon the plates/fibres are good, id replace the springs(they're pretty cheap anyway!)

Have a close look at the pressure plate Joe, it's not uncommon for them to crack around the centre so that when you pull the lever the crack just opens up & the plate stays put.
