G'day all you lucky buggers in the warm....Thank god I leave here tomoro.....freezin ma ass off...
Anyway...I need someone to tell me the weight of either a standard jap 17" x 4.5 and or 17" x 3 wheel without tyre etc....
My mate here has sold me an usd f/end plus rear wheel dirt cheap...trouble is the tyres are still on and I fly back tomoro.
I need the weights to work out if its realistic to pay the excess charges to bring them with me or to leave/post them.

Yeah they increased the limit a couple of years ago from $500 to $1000, just have a receipt from your mate for whatever it cost and you'll be sweet.

Front 17X3 is 3.9kg bare & 4.5" is 6.5kg without sprocket carrier & disc.
Those weights are without tyres.

Got a good result....Zxr400 forks,yokes,wheel & spindle plus rear wheel and spindle........$320.00 :D
Would have been less but I had to post the rear wheel to myself....10kg's of excess baggage would cost $48/kg.
As it was I was 6kg overweight but they let that slide....must have been my smile[^]
