drilling triple clamps

o.k i know this is a tired subject but,
not sure if my tc is strong enough for drilling etc. any thoughts on how to strengthen. maybe weld inthe back but i'm worrid about distortion. or tapping blocks underneath maybe. don't want to buy a proper set up till i get a set of usd's. might take a while so i would like to be able to use existing tc, off my 85 slabbie btw.

tapping blocks underneath will do fine mate i have seen some shonky set ups in my day and i have never seen a drilled clamp break

most of the load is taken by the bottom clamp any way.

there would be over 100 guys on this site that have drilled there top triple myself included and the strength has never been an issue.
